The Vikings designated Cashman (hamstring) from return from the injured reserve Monday.
The veteran linebacker has missed Minnesota's last four games after being placed on IR following Week 1 due to a hamstring injury. After a Week 6 bye, Cashman is ready to practice again, and the Vikings will now have 21 days to evaluate him before he'll need to be added back to the 53-man roster or remain on IR for the rest of the season. Once Cashman returns to full health, he's expected to slot back into a starting role at linebacker.

Cashman (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.
Cashman sustained a hamstring injury in Minnesota's Week 1 win over Chicago. The earliest he can return from IR would be Week 7 against the Eagles, following Minnesota's Week 6 bye. Eric Wilson is expected to start in Cashman's absence. Cashman missed at least three games due to injuries in five of his previous six NFL seasons and will do so again in 2025.

Vikings' Blake Cashman: Slated to miss time with injury
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said Wednesday that Cashman (hamstring) is expected to miss time.
Cashman exited early from Monday's season-opening win over Chicago and subsequently underwent an MRI on his hamstring. Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune reported that there was an initial expectation that Cashman would miss "several" weeks, and that still seems to be on the table given O'Connell's comments Wednesday. Eric Wilson steeped up with five tackles following Cashman's departure Monday and figures to take on a starting role during the latter's absence.
