  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Earns win in Game 2 on Monday

Oettinger stopped 34 of 37 shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche in Game 2. As has happened plenty of times in the past, Oettinger came through in a game where the Stars needed him to be at his best. Even though his recent performances have left a lot to be desired, as he's now given up three or more goals in six straight outings dating back to the regular season, Oettinger at least did enough to carry the Stars to victory. This was his first win of any kind since April 3, and the Stars will continue to rely on him. The next two games of the series will be in Colorado on Wednesday and Saturday.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: First goalie off Monday

Oettinger was the first goalie to leave the ice ahead of Monday's Game 2, indicating he'll start in goal at home versus Colorado, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports, indicating he'll be in goal. Oettinger gave up four goals on 23 shots (.826 save percentage) in Game 1 on Saturday but figures to remain the No. 1 option in the crease. Still, another bad outing could lead the Stars to at least consider giving Casey DeSmith a look. During the regular season, the 26-year-old Oettinger went 36-18-4 in 58 appearances, his third straight year reaching the 35-win threshold. That consistency has likely afforded him some leeway in the playoffs.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Game 1 woes continue

Oettinger stopped 19 of 23 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche in Game 1. The Avalanche also scored an empty-netter. Oettinger couldn't break with recent trends to open the postseason. His losing streak in Game 1s is eight games, dating back to the Stars' first-round series in 2022 versus the Flames. His recent play in 2024-25 is also discouraging -- Oettinger went 0-3-1 with 17 goals allowed over his final four regular-season contests. Combined with the absences of Jason Robertson (knee) and Miro Heiskanen (knee), the Stars have an uphill battle, especially after losing home-ice advantage early in the series. Still, Oettinger figures to tend the twine for Game 2 on Monday.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting in Game 1

Oettinger will be between the home pipes versus Colorado on Saturday in Game 1 of the opening round of the playoffs, Brien Rea of FanDuel Sports Network Southwest reports. Oettinger enters the playoffs on a three-game losing streak, allowing 14 goals and 93 shots (.849 save percentage). He needs to turn things around against a tough Colorado team. The Avalanche ranked sixth in the NHL with 3.33 goals per game during the 2024-25 regular season.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Can't shake skid in finale

Oettinger stopped 17 of 22 shots before he was pulled from Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Predators. Oettinger probably shouldn't have been starting in the regular-season finale, but he got the nod anyway. He wasn't able to shake his recent skid, which is up to four straight losses (0-3-1), a span in which he's allowed 17 goals on 134 shots. Oettinger ends the regular season at 36-18-4, one win shy of his career high from 2022-23, and he also posted a 2.59 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 58 starts. He'll be the man between the pipes for the Stars' playoff run, which begins with Game 1 versus the Avalanche on Saturday.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting in regular-season finale

Oettinger will defend the road crease against Nashville on Wednesday, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports. Oettinger and Casey DeSmith have alternated starts in recent weeks as the year winds down. However, Oettinger will draw a second consecutive start to close out the regular season. Over three starts against Nashville this year, he's gone 2-1-0 with a 2.36 GAA and .922 save percentage.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Hit with third straight loss

Oettinger stopped 31 of 36 shots in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Red Wings, with Detroit's final goal getting scored into an empty net. The Stars took a 3-2 lead into the third period, but another late fade handed the team its sixth straight loss as Dallas limps toward the postseason. Oettinger has three of those decisions on his ledger, giving up 12 goals on 112 shots in that time while going 0-2-1. The 26-year-old netminder remains stuck on 36 wins, one short of his career high.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Tending twine in Detroit

Oettinger will serve as the starting goaltender for Monday's road game against Detroit, Brien Rea of FanDuel Sports Network Southwest reports. After putting together a six-game winning streak between late March and early April, Oettinger has gone 0-1-1 with a 3.47 GAA and .908 save percentage over his last two appearances. However, he was successful at home against the Red Wings on Jan. 19, turning aside 33 of 34 shots (.971 save percentage) en route to a 4-1 victory.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Gives up four goals

Oettinger stopped 31 of 35 shots in Thursday's 4-0 loss to the Jets. Oettinger didn't have his best performance Thursday, though to be fair, the entire Stars team looked overmatched in this 4-0 defeat. Oettinger has dropped his last two starts, but fantasy managers shouldn't be overly concerned by his performances. This was the first time Oettinger posted a save percentage below the .910 mark since March 18.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Between pipes versus Jets

Oettinger will tend the twine at home against Winnipeg on Thursday, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports. Oettinger hasn't lost in regulation over his last eight appearances, going 6-0-2 with a 2.11 GAA and .936 save percentage. With the playoffs around the corner, the Stars have been rotating their backstops, so fantasy managers should probably expect to see Casey DeSmith in the crease at home against Utah on Saturday. Still, once the postseason begins, it figures to be all Oettinger, all the time.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Heavy workload in OT loss

Oettinger made 38 saves on 41 shots on net in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild. Oettinger kept the Stars' net clean for the first two periods before conceding two goals in the first five minutes of the third. He then surrendered the OT winner to Marco Rossi just under a minute into the extra period. Overall, the 26-year-old Oettinger has a 36-15-4 record with a 2.45 GAA and a .912 save percentage. As the regular season winds down and the Stars have clinched a playoff spot, Oettinger should alternate starts with Casey DeSmith to round out the year. When he does start in the last week-plus, Oettinger has a high floor in fantasy.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Sharp in sixth straight win

Oettinger stopped 28 shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Predators. Steven Stamkos opened the scoring early in the second period by sneaking a sharp-angle shot past Oettinger, but the 26-year-old netminder shut the door the rest of the way. His win streak stands at six, a stretch in which Oettinger has delivered a stellar 1.66 GAA and .947 save percentage as the Stars try to catch the Jets for the top seed in the Western Conference.

Oettinger is expected to start at home against Nashville on Thursday, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports. Oettinger has won his past five starts while saving 152 of 161 shots (.944 save percentage). He's 35-15-3 with a 2.47 GAA and a .911 save percentage in 53 appearances in 2024-25. Nashville ranks last in goals per game with 2.52.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Holds on for win

Oettinger stopped 41 of 44 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Oilers. Oettinger won his fourth straight start, but it came with some late drama. He fended off the Oilers' early push, but they were able to score three times in a span of 9:05 in the third period to make it close. During his winning streak, Oettinger has allowed a total of eight goals on 125 shots. He's up to 34-15-3 with a 2.50 GAA and a .909 save percentage across 52 appearances this season. The Stars will likely give the net to Casey DeSmith for Thursday's game versus the Flames, but Oettinger should get his next start in Seattle on Saturday.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Tending twine in Edmonton

Oettinger will start Wednesday's road game against Edmonton, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports. Oettinger is in the midst of a three-game winning streak, and he's coming off a 32-save shutout win over the Wild on Monday. He's made two starts against the Oilers this year, going 1-1-0 with a 3.05 GAA and .897 save percentage.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Posts 32-save shutout

Oettinger stopped all 32 shots he faced during Monday's 3-0 win over Minnesota. Oettinger got back on track with this dazzling performance after posting a 2-2-1 record, a 3.59 GAA and a .865 save percentage over his previous five starts. This was Oettinger's second shutout of the season, and the Stars need their star netminder to be at his best if they're going to make a deep playoff run.

Oettinger was the first goalie off during Monday's morning skate, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports, indicating that he'll start at home against the Wild. Oettinger has had mixed results recently, going 2-2-1 with a 3.59 GAA and .865 save percentage over his last five starts. However, he's picked up wins in each of his last two outings and will attempt to stay hot against the Wild, who are averaging 2.74 goals per game this season, which is the ninth-worst mark in the league.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Hangs on for OT win

Oettinger made 22 saves in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers. Dallas jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, but Philly tied it up in the second, setting the stage for Thomas Harley to play the hero in OT. It's the first time in five starts that Oettinger has given up fewer than three goals, and his heavy workload on the season may be wearing him down. Through seven outings in March, he's managed just an .887 save percentage despite his 4-2-1 record.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting vs. Philly

Oettinger will get the home start Saturday against the Flyers, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports. Oettinger is looking to break out of a slump -- he's gone 1-2-1 with an ugly .853 save percentage in his last four outings. Overall, Oettinger is 31-15-3 with a .906 save percentage and a 2.55 GAA this year. Philadelphia has registered 2.70 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Drawing home start

Oettinger will patrol the home blue paint Tuesday versus the Ducks, according to Brien Rea of FanDuel Sports Network Southwest. Oettinger has surrendered at least four goals in three consecutive games while turning in a record of 0-2-1, which matches his longest losing streak of the season. The 26-year-old has a chance to get back on the right track Tuesday against an Anaheim squad that has produced 2.63 goals per game this season, the fourth-worst mark in the NHL. Oettinger has fared well against the Ducks in his career, owning an 8-1-0 record, 1.87 GAA and .930 save percentage.
