Predators' Brady Skjei: Draws helper in loss
Skjei notched an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres.
Skjei has been limited to two helpers, 16 shots on net, 11 blocked shots, five hits and a plus-3 rating over 10 outings in January. The defenseman looked to be turning a corner in December, but his offense has faded even as the Predators sustain most of their improvements overall from the last month. Skjei has 15 points, 76 shots, 50 blocks, 36 hits, 20 PIM and a minus-8 rating across 49 appearances this season.

Predators' Justus Annunen: Strong showing in relief
Annunen stopped all 13 shots he faced in relief in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres.
Annunen entered the game in the second period after Juuse Saros allowed four goals on 18 shots. Annunen has limited upside as the backup netminder this season, but he can be a decent matchup-based streaming option at times.

Predators' Juuse Saros: Tagged with loss Tuesday
Saros picked up the loss in Tuesday's 5-3 defeat against the Sabres. He stopped 14 of 18 shots before being pulled in the second period.
It was a disastrous outing for Saros, who's now allowed three or more goals in each of his last three outings. However, he did emerge victorious in his previous two contests. He's been inconsistent of late and owns a 4-4-0 record through eight starts in January while posting a 3.35 GAA and an .892 save percentage over that stretch.

Predators' Ryan O'Reilly: Extends point streak
O'Reilly recorded two goals and an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres.
O'Reilly extended his point streak to five games with this impressive outing, and the 34-year-old veteran has racked up 10 points (five goals, five assists) over that stretch. O'Reilly remains one of the most productive Nashville forwards, registering 47 points in 49 games so far, and he is on pace to hover around the 70-point mark as long as he stays healthy. He hit that threshold back in the 2018-19 regular season when he was with the Blues.

Predators' Filip Forsberg: Three points in loss
Forsberg recorded one goal, two assists, seven shots on net, one hit, one blocked shot and a plus-1 rating in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres.
Forsberg has found the back of the net in three straight contests and has seven points during that prolific span. The 31-year-old is coming off an 11-game stretch between Dec. 23 and Jan. 13, in which he mustered only four points and a minus-9 rating. However, he appears to be back on track. He has notched 19 goals and 39 points in 49 games this season.

Predators' Adam Wilsby: Set to miss third straight game
Wilsby (lower body) isn't available for Tuesday's home matchup against the Sabres and is still day-to-day, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.
While Wilsby won't be an option Tuesday, the 25-year-old defenseman was on the ice during the morning skate, so he seems to be relatively close to returning to game action. Once he moves past his lower-body injury, he'll likely slot back into a bottom-four role, which would result in Justin Barron being a healthy scratch.

Predators' Ozzy Wiesblatt: Removed from IR
Wiesblatt (upper body) is no longer listed on injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's home matchup versus Buffalo, according to the NHL media site.
Wiesblatt was classified as a game-time decision earlier Tuesday, but his removal from injured reserve bodes well for his availability against the Sabres. Reid Schaefer was optioned to AHL Milwaukee to make room for Wiesblatt on the active roster. If the 23-year-old Wiesblatt ends up not being in the lineup Tuesday, his next chance to play will come Thursday against Ottawa.

Predators' Juuse Saros: First goalie off Tuesday
Saros will defend the home cage versus the Sabres on Tuesday, per Max Herz of 102.5 The Game Nashville.
Saros is coming off back-to-back wins against two of the league's highest-scoring opponents in the Oilers and Avalanche. The Finnish netminder made a total of 68 saves on 74 shots in those victories. Saros started the season 7-9-3 with a 3.08 GAA, but since the beginning of December, he is 12-6-0 with a .908 save percentage, which has helped the Predators get back into the playoff conversation. The Sabres are 2-2-1 in their last five games, a stretch in which they have netted 18 goals.

Predators' Ozzy Wiesblatt: Deemed game-time decision
Wiesblatt (upper body) was named a game-time decision ahead of Tuesday's clash against the Sabres, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.
Wiesblatt has been sidelined since Dec. 4 due to an upper-body injury. When healthy, the 23-year-old forward has offered physicality with 60 hits and 10 blocks to go along with four points in 24 games this season. If he is later activated off injured reserve and inserted into Tuesday's lineup, he will likely serve in a fourth-line role, limiting his fantasy value.

Predators' Reid Schaefer: Shipped down to minors
Schaefer was reassigned to AHL Milwaukee on Tuesday.
Schaefer has recorded four goals, six points, 63 hits and a minus-9 rating across 25 games in his first NHL season. Ozzy Wiesblatt (upper body) is closing in on a return to the lineup, which resulted in Schaefer's demotion. The 23-year-old Schaefer had a long stint with the big club since being recalled from the minors at the end of November, and he could receive another call-up if the Predators deal with more injuries up front in the future.

Predators' Roman Josi: Puts up pair of helpers in loss
Josi logged two assists and three shots on goal in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Josi has racked up three goals and seven helpers over his last four outings. He has four straight multi-point efforts while helping the Predators get back to being competitive in the Western Conference. Josi is at 28 points, 93 shots on net, 54 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-6 rating over 36 appearances this season.

Predators' Luke Evangelista: Tips in goal
Evangelista scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Evangelista got a piece of a Roman Josi shot, scoring the opening goal at 14:10 of the first period. The Golden Knights proceeded to dominate the rest of the contest. Evangelista ended a nine-game goal drought with the tally. He's now at seven goals, 34 points, 105 shots on net and a plus-10 rating over 47 appearances this season. The playmaking winger has plenty of potential in a top-line role alongside Ryan O'Reilly and Filip Forsberg.

Predators' Filip Forsberg: Adds garbage-time tally
Forsberg scored a power-play goal on four shots in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Forsberg scored at 19:38 of the third period, far too late to make a difference. That's goals in consecutive games for the winger, who had gone 11 contests without scoring prior to this two-game road trip. The 31-year-old is up to 18 goals, 36 points (11 on the power play), 139 shots on net, 91 hits and a minus-4 rating through 48 appearances this season.

Predators' Justus Annunen: No match for Golden Knights
Annunen stopped 29 of 36 shots in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Nashville had the first and last goals in the contest, but the Golden Knights had no trouble besting Annunen in between those tallies. He was in it for the long haul after Juuse Saros guided the Predators to a win in Colorado on Friday. Annunen dropped to 4-6-1 with a 3.49 GAA and an .876 save percentage over 14 appearances. It's unclear when Annunen will get his next chance to play, but the Predators don't have another back-to-back on the schedule until just before February's Olympic break.

Predators' Aiden Fink: Keeps up playmaking Saturday
Fink had four assists in Penn State's 6-3 win over the University of Notre Dame on Saturday.
Fink now has 18 points (three goals, 15 assists) through 15 appearances. The winger is showcasing serious playmaking talent with seven helpers over his last three games. The Nashville prospect is in his junior year of college, and he's already collected 105 points across 89 games with Penn State.

Predators' Adam Wilsby: Remains out Saturday
Wilsby (lower body) will miss Saturday's game against Vegas, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Wilsby will miss his second straight game. He has a goal and seven points in 36 appearances during the 2025-26 season. Wilsby remains day-to-day, but it's unclear if he will return Tuesday versus Buffalo.
