Top Predators News

  • Predators' Adam Wilsby: Remains out Thursday

Wilsby (lower body) isn't expected to play in Thursday's game against Philadelphia, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.

Wilsby hasn't been in the lineup since Oct. 28. He has two assists, 10 PIM, four hits and seven blocks in 11 outings in 2025-26. Wilsby might serve in a third-pairing role once he's healthy.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Tending twine at home

Saros will guard the home goal versus the Flyers on Thursday.

Saros is 1-2-1 over his last four starts, allowing 14 goals in that span. One of the regulation losses during that stretch was against the Flyers, when Saros allowed three goals on 17 shots last Thursday. The Flyers have scored just seven goals over three games since that contest, so they don't have a ton of momentum coming into this game.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Nets dramatic equalizer

Stamkos scored a goal in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild.

Stamkos evened things up for the Preds in the final second of the third period, but the Wild still won the game in overtime thanks to a goal by Marcus Johansson. Stamkos is enduring a slow start to the season, and while he remains a player worth rostering based on his scoring ability, the results just haven't been there for him. He has two goals and three points through 15 appearances in the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Predators' Matthew Wood: Point streak reaches four games

Wood recorded a goal and provided four shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to Minnesota.

Wood found the back of the net with a tip-in at the 5:16 mark of the second period to tie the game at 1-1. Wood has been surprisingly productive for a 20-year-old who only had six regular-season appearances under his belt before the start of the 2025-26 campaign. He's up to six points (three goals, three assists) already, and five of his points (three goals, two assists) have come during his four-game point streak.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Takes unique overtime loss

Annunen gave up three goals on 24 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild.

The Predators were fortunate to force overtime, with Steven Stamkos scoring in the final second of regulation. The officials and NHL situation room determined that Annunen dislodged the net when Marcus Johansson had an imminent scoring chance, resulting in an awarded goal at 3:38 of overtime. It's one of the more unique ways to lose a game, and Annunen dropped to 0-2-1 on the year because of it. He's allowed 11 goals on 79 shots across his three starts this season. Expect Juuse Saros to be back between the pipes for Thursday's home game against the Flyers.

  • Predators' Adam Wilsby: Not playing Tuesday

Wilsby (lower body) won't be in the lineup against Minnesota on Tuesday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Wilsby remains day-to-day and will miss his fourth straight game. It's unclear when he will receive the green light to return to the lineup. He has recorded two assists, 11 shots on goal, seven blocked shots, four hits and 10 PIM across 11 appearances this season.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Starting in Minnesota

Annunen will defend the road cage Tuesday versus the Wild.

Annunen will get the start in the second half of a back-to-back after Juuse Saros was between the pipes during Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to Vancouver. The 25-year-old Annunen has made just two starts this year, surrendering a total of eight goals on 54 shots (.852 save percentage) in losses to Toronto and Dallas. The Wild have generated 2.77 goals per game this season, which is tied for 22nd in the league.

  • Predators' Fedor Svechkov: Contributes assist Monday

Svechkov logged an assist in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canucks.

Svechkov was credited with a helper on Michael Bunting's third-period tally to pull the Predators within a goal. The helper was Svechkov's first point of the season. The 22-year-old center plays more of a defensive role on the third line, but he was scratched for a couple of games last week due to his slow start to the year. He's added 20 shots on net, six hits and a minus-3 rating across 12 appearances so far.

  • Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Finds twine in overtime loss

Blankenburg scored a goal on two shots and added three hits in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canucks.

Blankenburg has a goal and an assist over the last two games. He's filling a top-four role while Roman Josi (upper body) and Adam Wilsby (lower body) are out, but this could be a good chance for Blankenburg to stake a claim to a more permanent spot in the lineup over Spencer Stastney or Justin Barron. Blankenburg was pretty steady over 60 games in 2024-25, earning 16 points and a minus-2 rating on a weak Nashville team that hasn't shown much improvement over the first month of 2025-26.

  • Predators' Erik Haula: Buries power-play goal

Haula scored a power-play goal on three shots in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canucks.

Haula's offense is heating up again with four points, including two on the power play, over his last four games. He opened the season on a four-game point streak but followed it up with six scoreless outings. The 34-year-old has three goals, five helpers, 18 shots on net, 22 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 14 contests this season while filling a middle-six role with power-play time.

  • Predators' Zachary L'Heureux: Elevated from AHL

L'Heureux was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Cole Smith (upper body) will be out for multiple weeks, so L'Heureux is poised to provide depth up front with the big club for the time being. The 2021 first-round pick (No. 27 overall) has contributed four goals and six points over seven appearances with the Admirals this campaign. L'Heureux also had five goals and 15 points over 62 outings with the Predators in 2024-25, so he doesn't lack experience at the NHL level.

  • Predators' Filip Forsberg: Two points in OT loss

Forsberg scored an even-strength goal on a team-high nine shots on net and added a power-play assist and a hit in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canucks.

The veteran winger opened the scoring early in the first period by getting the puck past Thatcher Demko on his second whack from in close, before feeding Erik Haula for a one-timer late in the second. Forsberg has gotten onto the scoresheet in five of the last six games, and through 14 contests on the season, he's delivered six goals and 11 points while racking up 46 shots on net -- tied for 10th in the NHL -- and 32 hits.

  • Predators' Luke Evangelista: Pockets two helpers Monday

Evangelista produced two assists, one on the power play, in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canucks.

The 23-year-old winger has two multi-point performances in the last four games as he takes advantage of an assignment on the Predators' top line and top power-play unit. Evangelista has yet to establish himself as a consistent offensive force in the NHL, but he's teasing something of a breakout in 2025-26 after missing most of training camp as part of a contract dispute, collecting a goal and eight points through 13 contests.

  • Predators' Michael Bunting: Stays hot in Monday's loss

Bunting scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canucks.

Both points came in the third period as Bunting led a rally from a 4-2 deficit that earned the Predators a point in the standings, but they couldn't find the winner in OT. Bunting has delivered back-to-back multi-point performances and has two goals and six points over the last three contests, a sudden turnaround after he managed just two goals and three points through the first 11 contests of the season.

  • Predators' Juuse Saros: Falls to Canucks in OT

Saros made 31 saves in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to Vancouver.

The Canucks' first two goals came on power plays, and there wasn't much Saros could do on the OT winner either -- Brock Boeser found himself alone in front of the Nashville crease and flipped a backhander past the veteran netminder with just two seconds left. Saros has just one win in his last four starts, going 1-2-1 while giving up 14 goals on 119 shots. On the season, he's 5-4-3 in 12 outings with a 2.95 GAA and a .900 save percentage.

  • Predators' Adam Wilsby: Not in Monday's lineup

Wilsby (lower body) won't suit up for Monday's home game versus the Canucks, according to Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean.

Wilsby will miss his third straight game Monday. The left-shot defenseman was injured against Tampa Bay on Oct. 28, and it's unclear when he'll return to the lineup. Wilsby's next chance to play will come Tuesday in Minnesota.
