Fautanu (knee) told reporters Monday that he will be "100 percent" for OTAs this offseason, Mark Kaboly of 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh reports. Fautanu, a 2024 first-round pick from Washington, sustained a season-ending knee injury in the Steelers' Week 2 win over the Broncos. However, his comments Monday suggest that he'll be ready to participate in Pittsburgh's offseason activities, typically beginning in late May. Fautanu is expected to compete with Broderick Jones for the Steelers' top right tackle spot once he returns to the field.... See More ... See Less

Steelers' Troy Fautanu: Out for regular season
Fautanu needs surgery to repair ligament damage to a dislocated kneecap and is out for the rest of the regular season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The rookie right tackle could return if the Steelers make the playoffs, per Rapoport. Fautanu was placed on IR on Saturday after suffering the injury during practice Friday. Broderick Jones will likely step forward as the new starting right tackle.... See More ... See Less -
Steelers' Troy Fautanu: Likely out for season
Fautanu (knee) is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024 season after being placed on injured reserve Saturday, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Fautanu will have to miss at the least the next four games after being placed on IR, but his knee injury appears to be significant enough to keep him sidelined for the remainder of his rookie season. The first-round pick took over a starting role at right tackle Week 2, and his absence should leave Broderick Jones to step back into the lineup. Meanwhile, Fautanu will likely shift his focus toward getting healthy enough to return for a potential postseason run with Pittsburgh.... See More ... See Less -
Steelers' Troy Fautanu: Lands on IR with knee injury
The Steelers placed Fautanu on injured reserve Saturday due to a knee injury, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Fautanu sustained a knee injury during Friday's practice, and the injury is severe enough for the offensive lineman to be ruled out indefinitely, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Fautanu will undergo further testing to determine his recovery timeline, but by being placed on IR, the rookie first-round pick will be forced to miss at least the next four games. The earliest he can return will be Week 7 against the Jets on Oct. 20. Broderick Jones will hold down the starting right tackle job in Fautanu's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Steelers' Troy Fautanu: Out indefintely with knee injury
Fautanu injured his knee during Friday's practice session and will not play Sunday against the Chargers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Fellow tackle Broderick Jones told reporters after Friday's practice that Fautanu had "a little tweak" in his knee and is set to undergo an MRI to evaluate the severity of the injury, per Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com. Fautanu made his NFL debut in Week 2 against Denver as he supplanted Jones for the starting right tackle job, but the former will be now sidelined for the foreseeable future. It's unclear whether the knee Fautanu injured Friday is the same knee in which he sustained an MCL sprain during training camp.... See More ... See Less -
Steelers' Troy Fautanu: Likely out two weeks
Fautanu (knee) is expected to miss two weeks due to a sprained MCL, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Fautanu suffered an MCL sprain in Friday's preseason loss to Houston, but it appears that he could be recovered by the time the regular season begins. The 23-year-old could work his way up to a starting role when healthy after being taken with the 20th overall pick in April's NFL Draft.... See More ... See Less -
