Brunson finished Wednesday's 134-127 double-overtime win over the Nuggets with 42 points (14-27 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 9-11 FT), nine assists, eight rebounds and two steals over 47 minutes.
It was a vintage performance out of Brunson on Wednesday, with the All-Star guard coming alive with 15 third-quarter points before scoring 10 points in the second OT frame to propel the Knicks to a tough victory. It was his third game of 40-plus points this season and the first time he scored at least 30 points since Jan. 24 against the 76ers. Things won't get easier for Brunson and the Knicks as they hit the road to face the East-leading Pistons on Friday.
Brunson provided 12 points (4-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 13 assists, seven rebounds and one steal over 37 minutes during Sunday's 112-100 win over the Lakers.
Brunson logged his lowest scoring total of the season in a full game on inefficient shooting, but he still made his presence felt elsewhere by handing out a season-high 13 assists and tying a season best with seven rebounds. While January was a bit quieter by the star guard's lofty standards -- 23.3 points, 4.4 assists and 2.7 rebounds across 13 appearances -- the 29-year-old remains the clear engine of the Knicks and a high-level performer.

Brunson clearly wasn't 100 percent out there, but he still played with a lot of intensity on defense, which helped set the tone for the Knicks. As a team, the Knicks locked in defensively during the third quarter and held Toronto to just 19 points while New York dropped in 35. It all culminated in a 27-point victory for the Knicks, and this was their 11th straight win over the Raptors.
Brunson is questionable for Wednesday's game against Toronto with an illness, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
Brunson was a very late addition to the injury report, boding poorly for his chances of playing. With Miles McBride already out with an ankle injury, Landry Shamet, Tyler Kolek and Jordan Clarkson could all have extra opportunities in the New York backcourt.

Brunson contributed 28 points (9-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four assists, three rebounds and one block across 35 minutes in Tuesday's 103-87 win over the Kings.
Brunson turned in an efficient performance and led all players in triples en route to a team-high 28 points. The star point guard has reached the 20-point threshold in each of his last 21 completed games. However, he dished out just four assists, marking the third time this month he has recorded fewer than five dimes when playing at least six minutes. On a more positive note, he blocked a shot for the first time since Jan. 7 and for just the fourth time this season.

The Knicks dominated Wednesday's game, allowing head coach Mike Brown to go deep into the bench and limit the minutes of his starters. Brunson's 31 minutes were a team high, but it was also tied for his third-fewest minutes in a game that he didn't get injured in. Brunson has now played two games since a brief absence due to an ankle injury, and he's averaging 21.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists while shooting 41.5 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from three-point land.
Brunson (ankle) will be available for Monday's game against Dallas, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.

Brunson was back in action and operated with no playing-time restriction in his return from a two-game absence due to a sprained right ankle, which he suffered in the first quarter of last Wednesday's loss to Sacramento. The star point guard's presence wasn't enough for the Knicks to avoid a fourth straight loss, however, as Brunson connected on just 37.5 percent of his attempts from the field. Brunson has essentially provided fantasy managers with what they should have expected on draft day, as he's missed only five of the Knicks' first 43 games and has provided across-the-board averages and percentages that are mostly in line with his marks from the prior two seasons.
