Seahawks' Johnathan Hankins: Won't return Week 9
Hankins (back) won't play in Seattle's Week 9 matchup versus the Commanders, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports.
Hankins doesn't appear close to returning, as he's still recovering from the back injury that landed him on the reserve/non-football injury list back in August. While there's currently no timetable for his return, once healthy, the 33-year-old should provide additional depth along the defensive line.

Seahawks' Johnathan Hankins: Starting season on NFI list
Hankins (back) was moved to the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Hankins will miss the first four games of the regular season as a result of this move. The veteran defensive tackle saw significant playing time on the interior of Seattle's defensive line last season, accruing 30 tackles (15 solo) in 17 games.

Seahawks' Johnathan Hankins: Dealing with back injury
The Seahawks placed Hankins (back) on the active/non-football injury list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed Wednesday that Hankins was diagnosed with a back injury, but there's optimism that the issue won't keep the veteran sidelined for the long term. Hankins opted to re-sign with the Seahawks in late April after a solid 2024 campaign in which he recorded 30 tackles (15 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and an interception in 17 regular-season games.

The Seahawks re-signed Hankins to a one-year deal Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Hankins will return to Seattle, where he racked up 30 tackles (15 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and an interception across 17 regular-season games during the 2024 campaign. The 2013 second-round pick will compete with Byron Murphy (back) for the team's starting nose tackle spot.

Seahawks' Johnathan Hankins: Resurgent 2024 campaign
Hankins finished the 2024 season with 30 total tackles (15 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and an interception over 17 games.
Hankins built off of an impressive 2023 campaign with the Cowboys, appearing in all 17 regular-season games with the Seahawks in 2024, snatching his first career interception in the process. The 32-year-old is an unrestricted free agent heading into the offseason, and he'll likely sign a one-year deal with his next destination for the fifth straight year.

Seahawks' Johnathan Hankins: Moves to Seattle
Hankins signed a contract with the Seahawks on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Hankins spent last season in Dallas, starting 14 regular-season games and racking up 27 tackles (13 solo), including 3.0 sacks. His presence should strengthen Seattle's defensive line against the run in 2024.

Cowboys' Johnathan Hankins: Starts 14 games for Dallas
Hankins racked up 27 tackles (13 solo), including 3.0 sacks, and two pass breakups across 14 regular-season appearances with the Cowboys in 2023.
Hankins missed three games down the stretch due to a high-ankle sprain, and he otherwise was unspectacular for Dallas while on the field. Now a pending unrestricted free agent and heading into his age-32 season, Hankins isn't necessarily a lock to secure another starting role for the 2024 campaign. His best prospects might be to re-sign with the Cowboys on a team-friendly deal.
