Rams' Tyler Higbee: Not returning Thursday
Higbee (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game at San Francisco, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
For a second week in a row, Higbee was listed as a full participant on all three Rams injury reports, but the team isn't quite ready to clear him for his first game action since Jan. 14, when he suffered ACL and MCL tears in his right knee in a playoff loss at Detroit. Los Angeles has one week remaining to activate Higbee from the reserve/PUP list, or else he'll miss the entire 2024 campaign. In the meantime, Colby Parkinson, Hunter Long and Davis Allen (shoulder) will continue to serve as the Rams' tight ends.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Full participant Tuesday
Higbee (knee) was listed as a full participant on Tuesday's practice estimate, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Higbee has practiced in full the last two weeks but is still waiting to make his 2024 season debut after tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee last January and undergoing surgery. If Higbee misses Thursday's game versus San Francisco, Colby Parkinson and Hunter Long could serve as the Rams' tight ends. The Rams also have Davis Allen on the roster, but he's been listed as a non-participant in the team's first two Week 15 practice reports due to a shoulder injury.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Listed as full Monday
Higbee (knee) was listed as a full participant on Monday's practice estimate, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Higbee now has received such a listing on five consecutive Rams injury reports stretching back to Week 13 prep as he seeks his first game action since suffering ACL and MCL tears in his right knee back on Jan. 14. Coach Sean McVay touched on Higbee on Monday, telling Stu Jackson of the team's official site, "We'll see," regarding whether or not the tight end will make his season debut Thursday at San Francisco. "I don't have a great sense of it," McVay added. "That was always something we left open as a possibility, but certainly don't want to rush it." Higbee has more than a week remaining in his 21-day window in which to be evaluated for a potential activation from the reserve/PUP list, so a decision may not be imminent.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Won't play this week
Rams coach Sean McVay said Friday that Higbee (knee) will not be activated for Sunday's game against the Bills, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.
McVay didn't comment on expectations for a key game against the 49ers four days later. Higbee has been a full practice participant since last Friday, but the Rams are taking things slow due to the severity of his injury (ACL and MCL tears suffered Jan. 14). Davis Allen, Colby Parkinson and Hunter Long have formed a committee at tight end in recent weeks.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Another full practice Wednesday
Higbee (knee) was a full practice participant Wednesday.
Going back to last week, Higbee now has put together two straight uncapped sessions as he seeks his first game action since suffering ACL and MCL tears in his right knee back on Jan. 14. His return isn't expected to happen Sunday versus the Bills, as head coach Sean McVay relayed Monday that Higbee was "less likely than likely" to be available for that contest, per Cameron DaSilva of USA Today. As long as Higbee remains on the reserve/PUP list, the trio of Davis Allen, Colby Parkinson and Hunter Long will serve as the Rams' tight ends.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Unlikely to play Week 14
Higbee (knee) isn't expected to play next Sunday versus Buffalo, Cameron DaSilva of RamsWire reports.
On Monday, head coach Sean McVay deemed Higbee's chances of suiting up Week 14 as "less than likely," so fantasy managers shouldn't expect to have the tight end back for Sunday's battle against the Bills. Higbee is waiting to make his season debut, as he's spent the season up to this point on the reserve/PUP list after tearing his ACL and MCL in a wild-card loss to the Lions in mid-January. While Higbee has been out, Davis Allen has worked as Los Angeles' top tight end, with Colby Parkinson and Hunter Long chipping in behind him. Higbee was designated to return Nov. 27, so the Rams have until Dec. 17 to activate him before his 21-day practice window closes.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Season debut still on hold
Higbee (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Saints, Luke Johnson of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Higbee won't make his season debut Sunday, leaving Davis Allen and Colby Parkinson as the Rams' top two tight ends against New Orleans. The 31-year-old Higbee managed to notch a full practice Friday, suggesting he's closing in on a return as he works his way back from a torn ACL suffered during last season's playoffs. Higbee could return to game action in Week 14 against the Bills.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Another limited listing
Higbee (knee) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice report, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
The Rams designated Higbee for return from the reserve/PUP list Wednesday, which was the first step as the team prepares to get their No. 1 TE back in the lineup for the first time since he suffered ACL and MCL tears in his right knee during a playoff loss at Detroit on Jan. 14. So far, he's been listed as limited on both Week 13 injury reports, but coach Sean McVay told Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com on Tuesday that he doesn't believe Higbee will be activated in time for Sunday's game at New Orleans. Friday's practice report may provide a ruling on that front.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Limited in return to practice
Higbee (knee), who was designated for return from the reserve/PUP list Wednesday, was a limited participant in practice to begin Week 13 prep.
Higbee appears to be in the final stages of his recovery from the ACL and MCL tears that he sustained Jan. 14 in a postseason loss at Detroit. However, head coach Sean McVay implied Tuesday that Higbee likely won't be able to suit up Sunday in New Orleans, according to Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com. Aside from Week 13, the Rams have two more games (Dec. 8 against the Bills and Dec. 12 at San Francisco) within Higbee's 21-day practice window, so he may have a better chance to return in one of those contests.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Practice window opens
The Rams designated Higbee (knee) for return from the reserve/PUP list Wednesday.
This transaction follows comments from head coach Sean McVay on Tuesday that Higbee was in line to return to practice this week, per Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com. At the same time, McVay relayed that Higbee is unlikely to play Sunday at New Orleans. The Rams will likely take a cautious approach with Higbee, who suffered ACL and MCL tears in his right knee back on Jan. 14 in a playoff loss in Detroit. With his 21-day window in which to get back on the active roster opened, he's drawing closer to making his season debut.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Likely to practice this week
Rams head coach Sean McVay said Higbee (knee) is likely to resume practicing this week, but the tight end is unlikely to play in Sunday's game at New Orleans, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Los Angeles is expected to formally open Higbee's 21-day evaluation window Wednesday, when the team begins Week 13 prep. Higbee has been on the PUP list since late August after he suffered an ACL and MCL tear in his right knee in a Jan. 14 playoff loss to the Lions. After a lengthy recovery from surgery, the 31-year-old is finally ready to take reps in practice, but he could require a multi-week ramp-up period before he's deemed ready for game action. Once he's added back to the 53-man roster, Higbee will likely take over as the Rams' starting tight end, though he could be deployed in a timeshare with Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen as the coaching staff looks to keep Higbee's snap counts in check coming off the major knee injury.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Couple weeks away from returning
Head coach Sean McVay said Friday that Higbee (knee) is "a couple weeks away" from making his return, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Higbee's making progress in his recovery from a torn ACL and MCL suffered in last season's playoffs, but his return to game action is still multiple weeks in the future. Once he's cleared to come off the reserve/PUP list, Higbee presumably will require a ramp-up period in practice before he's ready to make his season debut. Davis Allen has taken over as the Rams' top tight end in recent weeks, leapfrogging Colby Parkinson on the depth chart.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Ahead of schedule on knee rehab
Head coach Sean McVay said Monday that Higbee is "ahead of schedule" of his recovery from a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
Higbee suffered the injury during the Rams' playoff loss to the Lions in January. He's been on the PUP list since training camp, and while he hasn't returned to practice, McVay relayed that the veteran tight end has been present at practices and hinted that Higbee could return later in the regular season. While Higbee remains sidelined, Colby Parkinson will continue to serve as the Rams' No. 1 tight end while Hunter Long and Davis Allen operate as the backups.
