Brodin (lower body) will not play Sunday against Boston and is considered week-to-week, per Michael Russo of The Athletic. It appears that Brodin could be in for another extended absence -- the 31-year-old blueliner played just seven games since returning from a 12-game IR stint with another lower-body injury. Zach Bogosian, who missed Friday's contest with a lower-body injury, will return and take Brodin's place in the lineup Sunday.... See More ... See Less

Wild's Jonas Brodin: Exits in third period Friday
Brodin (undisclosed) left Friday's game versus the Avalanche in the third period, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports. Head coach John Hynes didn't have an update on Brodin or Zach Bogosian (lower body) after the contest, leaving the Wild's defense in a precarious spot ahead of Sunday's game versus the Bruins. The Wild are expected to know more about Brodin's availability Saturday, but if he's out, it will be a big loss for a team that has already been struggling defensively in recent contests.... Wild's Jonas Brodin: Gets 4 Nations goal in OT loss
Brodin scored a goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off on Wednesday. He wired a high shot from the right circle that went in short side over Jordan Binnington's left shoulder. Binner would like that goal back, but it was still a sweet snipe for Brodin, who had played just three NHL games after a month's absence due to injury before the tourney opened up. Brodin isn't an offensive stud, but he instead provides excellent two-way, shutdown defending for both the Wild and the Tre Kroner.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Earns helper Thursday
Brodin logged an assist in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Hurricanes. This was Brodin's second game back from a lower-body injury that cost him 12 contests. The Wild have been cautious with the 31-year-old blueliner -- he is averaging 22:56 of ice time this season, but he hasn't broken 19 minutes in either of his two appearances since returning to action. Brodin has 17 points, 54 shots on net, 69 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating through 33 outings. With both of Brock Faber and Jared Spurgeon healthy, it's unlikely Brodin will see much power-play time.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Removed from LTIR
Brodin (lower body) was activated off long-term injured reserve Tuesday, per Michael Russo of The Athletic. Brodin last suited up against the Blues on Jan. 7 -- the left-shot blueliner has sat out the last 12 games. The 31-year-old has provided four goals, 16 points and a plus-10 rating across 31 appearances this campaign. Brodin will skate alongside Jared Spurgeon on the second pairing Tuesday against the Bruins.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Expected back Tuesday
Brodin (lower body) will "most likely" be in action versus the Bruins on Tuesday according to head coach John Hynes, Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Brodin has been out of action for the Wild's last 12 contests, so he is eligible to be activated off long-term injured reserve once given the all-clear. Prior to getting hurt, the 31-year-old Swede was rolling offensively with seven points in his last seven outings. Look for Brodin to link up with the No. 2 power-play unit once taken off LTIR.... Wild's Jonas Brodin: Shifts to LTIR
Brodin (lower body) was moved to long-term injured reserve Tuesday. Brodin isn't expected back until at least after the team's upcoming four-game road trip, so this move to LTIR isn't expected to impact his recovery timeline. Prior to his absence, the 31-year-old blueliner was rolling with points in four straight games in which he notched one goal, four assists and six shots. With the cap savings, the Wild figure to bring an extra forward up from the minors for the trip.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Not going on road trip
Brodin (lower body) won't accompany the Wild on the team's upcoming four-game road trip, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports Tuesday. Brodin has missed the last nine games and may not return before the 4 Nations Face-Off. He has compiled four goals, 16 points, 54 shots on net, 67 blocked shots and 17 hits through 31 appearances this season. Once healthy, Brodin could bump Jon Merrill or Declan Chisholm from the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Shifts to IR
Brodin (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. Minnesota converted David Jiricek's emergency recall to a regular recall in a corresponding move. Brodin has missed the last four games and won't play during Minnesota's two-game road trip, which begins Saturday versus Nashville. He has accounted for four goals, 16 points, 54 shots on net and 67 blocked shots through 31 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Won't make two-game trip
Brodin (lower body) will not join the Wild for their two-game road trip, Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Friday. Considering Brodin has already missed four games due to his lower-body issue, and will now be out for at least two more, he figures to be a strong candidate for injured reserve if Minnesota needs the roster spot. It's a tough blow for the veteran blueliner, as he has registered a point in six of his last seven outings for a combined two goals and five helpers. With Brock Faber (upper body) back in action, the last spot on the blue line will go to Travis Dermott or David Jiricek -- at least until Brodin is given the all-clear.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Will remain sidelined vs. Edmonton
Brodin (lower body) won't play in Wednesday's home game against the Oilers, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports. Brodin has dealt with a lower-body injury for nearly a week, and he'll be unavailable for a fourth consecutive game Wednesday. Brock Faber (upper body) will also remain sidelined against the Oilers, so Travis Dermott and David Jiricek should continue to see time in the lineup. Brodin's next chance to return will be against the Predators on Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Staying back home
Brodin (lower body) did not travel with the WIld for their two-game road trip against San Jose and Vegas on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports. Brodin will have missed three games by the time Minnesota returns home, which could make him a candidate for IR if the team needs an extra roster spot. Prior to getting hurt, the 31-year-old defenseman was rolling offensively with seven points in his last seven outings, including a four-game point streak. With Brock Faber (upper body) also staying back in Minnesota, the Wild will be forced to utilize both Travis Dermott and David Jiricek.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Won't play Thursday
Brodin has been ruled out for Thursday's home game against Colorado due to a lower-body injury, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. Brodin was in the midst of a hot stretch recently, as he had recorded points in six of his last seven appearances, logging two goals, five assists, 17 blocked shots, six hits and a plus-3 rating while averaging 26:34 of ice time across that span. However, he's considered day-to-day due to a lower-body issue. Travis Dermott and David Jiricek will likely enter the lineup against the Avalanche since Brodin and Brock Faber (upper body) will be unavailable. Brodin's next opportunity to suit up will be on the road against San Jose on Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Adds assist Saturday
Brodin notched an assist, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Hurricanes. Brodin helped out on a Matt Boldy goal in the third period. With two goals and four assists over his last six games, Brodin has been chipping in more offense than usual while also seeing massive minutes in the absence of Jared Spurgeon (lower body) over the last two contests. Brodin is up to 15 points, 54 shots on net, 63 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating through 30 appearances. He's unlikely to help on the power play, but the 31-year-old defenseman is on pace for just the second 30-point campaign of his career.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Four points in last four games
Brodin scored a goal and added an assist Tuesday in a 5-3 win over the Predators. Brodin and Brock Faber picked up the extra ice time after Jared Spurgeon (lower body) went down early to injury. Brodin has four points (two goals, two assists) in his last four games, and the extra ice time could continue for the foreseeable future -- Spurgeon was seen leaving the arena with a leg brace and crutches.... Wild's Jonas Brodin: Puts away goal
Brodin scored a goal on two shots, added two hits and blocked three shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Stars. Brodin has three points over seven contests since he returned from an upper-body injury. This goal was his first since Nov. 19. The 31-year-old defenseman is up to three goals, 11 points, 46 shots on net, 56 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 26 outings this season. He continues to operate in a top-four role, though his scoring output leaves him on the fringe of being useful in most fantasy formats.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Nabs helper Monday
Brodin logged an assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Monday's 4-3 win over the Blackhawks. Brodin has two helpers over six games since he returned from an upper-body injury. The 31-year-old defenseman stepped right back into his top-pairing role after the absence, though he's not always that consistent on offense. He often plays more of a shutdown role while Brock Faber gets more involved in the O-zone. Brodin is up to 10 points, 44 shots on net, 53 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 25 appearances.... Wild's Jonas Brodin: Assist in return from injury
Brodin picked up an assist in Saturday in a 4-1 win over the Flyers. Brodin missed eight games due to an upper-body injury before playing against the Flyers. He took his usual spot on the first pairing and fired three shots in 25:06 of playing time. Brodin's fantasy contributions are linked more to his 45 blocked shots than his offensive contributions (two goals, seven assists) through his 20 appearances. Brodin is also behind Jared Spurgeon, Declan Chisholm and Brock Faber on the power play depth chart.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Back in action Saturday
Brodin (upper body) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Flyers, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com. Brodin had missed Minnesota's last eight games after suffering an injury in late November. The 31-year-old Brodin logged two goals, eight points and a plus-7 rating in 19 games prior to the injury.... See More ... See Less -
Wild's Jonas Brodin: Resumes skating
Brodin (upper body) has resumed skating, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports Tuesday. Brodin was labeled week-to-week last Wednesday, but it appears he's improving. He has not yet joined a full-team practice, and his return should not be considered imminent until that happens.... See More ... See Less
