  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Holds firm to earn shootout win

Lankinen stopped 20 of 23 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Flames. Lankinen gave up a pair of goals to Jonathan Huberdeau in the second period, which put the Canucks behind. Elias Pettersson tied the game in the third, and Lankinen held firm, including stopping three of four attempts in the shootout, to secure the win in a game between two teams battling for a playoff spot. The 29-year-old netminder is 3-3-0 after starting six straight games to begin March, and he's allowed three or more goals in four of those contests. For the season, Lankinen sports a 23-12-7 record with a 2.55 GAA and a .904 save percentage through 42 appearances. The Canucks have another back-to-back up next, as they host the Blackhawks on Saturday and Utah on Sunday. It's unclear at this time if Arturs Silovs will be considered to start either of those games.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: In goal again Wednesday

Lankinen will protect the road goal versus the Flames on Wednesday, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports. Lankinen took a second consecutive loss in Tuesday's 4-2 defeat against the Canadiens. However, the Canucks are trying to keep pace in the playoff race, and Lankinen gives them a better chance to win than Arturs Silovs. The 29-year-old Lankinen is 3-4-0 with a 2.59 GAA and a .901 save percentage over his last seven outings, and he has a favorable matchup against the Flames' pedestrian offense.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Second straight defeat

Lankinen stopped 23 of 26 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Canadiens. The fourth goal came on an empty-netter with 17 seconds left in the game. Lankinen was beaten twice in the first period and once more in the second, and now he's dropped three of his last five starts, posting a 2.85 GAA and an .884 save percentage in that stretch. The Canucks play again Wednesday at Calgary, so Lankinen could get the night off in the second leg of a back-to-back set. If that's the case, then Arturs Silovs would likely defend the Canucks' crease.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Starting first half of back-to-back

Lankinen will tend the home twine Tuesday versus Montreal, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports. Lankinen will make his fifth straight start as Vancouver is battling for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The 29-year-old has had mixed results over four outings in March, going 2-2-0 with an .884 save percentage and a 2.79 GAA. The Canadiens have lost back-to-back games and were shutout 1-0 in Calgary on Saturday.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Falters in Sunday's loss

Lankinen stopped 15 of 18 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Stars. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Lankinen had won three of his last four outings, but he didn't put in a great performance against a tough opponent. The Stars scored twice in the second period, and Jason Robertson added the third goal on Lankinen's line midway through the third to squash any hope of a Vancouver comeback. For the season, Lankinen slipped to 22-11-7 with a 2.53 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 40 games. The Canucks have a back-to-back up next with a home game Tuesday versus the Canadiens followed by a trip to Calgary on Wednesday. It's one of two back-to-back sets over the next week, so Lankinen and Arturs Silovs appear poised to split the workload in that span, as it's unlikely Thatcher Demko (lower body) will be cleared to play during that stretch.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Facing Dallas

Lankinen will defend the home crease against the Stars on Sunday, according to Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com. Lankinen has won back-to-back games and three of his last four while conceding two goals or fewer in each victory. The Finnish goaltender owns a 22-10-7 record, .906 save percentage and 2.52 GAA through 39 appearances this season. Dallas is on the second half of a back-to-back after losing 5-4 in Edmonton on Saturday and will be without Roope Hintz (face), who was injured in that game.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Between pipes Friday

Lankinen will guard the home net versus Minnesota on Friday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. Lankinen is having a career year with the Canucks this season. He is 21-10-7 with four shutouts, a 2.56 GAA and a .904 save percentage. The Wild have had trouble finding the back of the net in 2024-25, generating 2.82 goals per game, tied for 22nd in the NHL.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Lightly tested in win

Lankinen stopped 14 of 16 shots in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Ducks. The Ducks didn't have much going in the second half of their back-to-back, leaving Lankinen with little to do. In that regard, it wasn't a particularly inspiring performance from the 29-year-old netminder, but it was enough for his third win in five starts. He's now at a 21-10-7 record through a career-high 38 games, and he's added a 2.56 GAA and a .904 save percentage. The Canucks' homestand continues with a tougher matchup Friday versus the Wild.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Set to face Anaheim

Lankinen is expected to start at home against Anaheim on Wednesday, per Ben Kuzma of Postmedia. Lankinen is coming off a disappointing 6-3 loss to Seattle on Saturday in which he surrendered five goals on 23 shots. He had a good stretch before that, though, stopping 77 of 82 shots (.939 save percentage) over three outings from Feb. 6 to Feb. 26. This will be his second start of the campaign against the Ducks after he saved 21 of 22 shots en route to a 5-1 victory over them Nov. 5.

Lankinen is expected to start on the road against Seattle on Saturday, per Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650. Lankinen has a 20-9-7 record, 2.50 GAA and .907 save percentage in 36 appearances in 2024-25. He stopped 24 of 26 shots en route to a 3-2 overtime victory over the Kings in his last start Wednesday. • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Wins in overtime

Lankinen stopped 24 of 26 shots in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Kings. Lankinen couldn't protect a 2-0 lead in the third period, but Conor Garland saved the day with his second tally of the game coming in overtime. This was Lankinen's fourth win in his last six outings, and he's allowed two or fewer goals in five of those games. The 29-year-old netminder has earned his first 20-win NHL season at 20-9-7, and he's added a 2.50 GAA and a .907 save percentage across 36 outings, one shy of his career high. Lankinen will operate as the Canucks' top goalie as long as Thatcher Demko (lower body) remains out, though it'll likely be Arturs Silovs getting the nod for the second half of the back-to-back Thursday in Anaheim.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: First goalie off

Lankinen was the first goalie off Wednesday, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports, indicating that he'll draw the road start against Los Angeles. Lankinen has been relatively effective in recent outings, going 3-1-1 with a 1.85 GAA and .932 save percentage over his last five appearances. The Kings rank 16th in the NHL with 2.91 goals per game this season.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Outplayed in low-scoring game

Lankinen stopped 32 of 34 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Golden Knights. The third goal was an empty-netter. Lankinen was good, but Adin Hill was a little better as the Golden Knights rallied from a 1-0 deficit. The 29-year-old Lankinen looks to be the Canucks' No. 1 for a while -- Thatcher Demko (lower body) is week-to-week and isn't on the Canucks' five-game road trip. Lankinen is 3-1-1 with nine goals allowed over his last five outings, and he's at a 19-9-7 record with a 2.52 GAA and a .907 save percentage through 35 contests this season. Demko's injury history is concerning enough that the Canucks signed Lankinen to a five-year extension Friday, making it likely that Lankinen will be at least a "1B' option for the next few years. That has value in all fantasy formats, where he's no worse than a No. 3 goalie for virtual squads and will often elevate to No. 2 status when he's seeing significant playing time.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Starting in Vegas

Lankinen will guard the road net Saturday against the Golden Knights, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports. With the ink still fresh on his five-year contract extension, Lankinen will draw the start Saturday as the Canucks return from the 4 Nations Face-Off break in Vegas. The 29-year-old Lankinen is 19-8-7 with a .905 save percentage and a 2.53 GAA this year.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Gets five-year contract extension

Lankinen agreed to terms on a five-year, $22.5 million contract extension with the Canucks on Friday. Lankinen signed a one-year, $875,000 contract at the end of training camp and has become the Canucks' No. 1 goaltender this season. He is 19-8-7 with four shutouts, a 2.53 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 34 appearances in 2024-25. He will continue to battle Thatcher Demko for the top job with the Canucks the rest of this season, as well as next year.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: In goal versus Canada

Lankinen will guard the home net against Team Canada on Monday at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Boston, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Lankinen will make his second straight start for Finland after stopping 21 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over Sweden. With a regulation win over Canada on Monday, Finland can advance to the championship game against the United States on Thursday.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Win for Finns on Saturday

Lankinen made 21 saves in Finland's 4-3 overtime victory over Sweden on Saturday at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Montreal. In his first start at the tournament after backing up Juuse Saros in a 6-1 loss to the United States on Thursday, Lankinen looked as sharp as he has in Vancouver's net this season. It wouldn't be surprising if Lankinen played again against Canada on Monday afternoon in Boston. The Finnish net probably belongs to him now.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Starting Saturday versus Sweden

Lankinen will defend the road crease versus Sweden on Saturday in Finland's second game of the 4 Nations Face-Off, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Saturday's matchup is a big game for both teams as Sweden lost a 4-3 overtime decision to Canada on Wednesday, while the Finns were defeated 6-1 by the United States on Thursday. Lankinen has sparkled this season in the Vancouver cage, going 19-8-7 with four shutouts, a 2.53 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 34 appearances.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Yields three goals in overtime loss

Lankinen stopped 15 of 18 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Red Wings. It was not a sharp performance for Lankinen, who allowed two goals to Alex DeBrincat, including the game-winner, and one to Ben Chiarot. In January, Lankinen went 4-2-2, allowing two or fewer goals in six of those contests, though he also faced fewer than 30 shots on six occasions, leading to an .898 save percentage. He's generally been decent this season with an 18-8-7 record, a 2.57 GAA and a .904 save percentage through 33 appearances. Lankinen's play has pushed Thatcher Demko, who has struggled to get up to speed since returning from a knee injury. The Canucks will want Demko to seize the No. 1 job, but until he does, Lankinen figures to continue poaching starts.
