  • Lian Bichsel D | DAL

Stars' Lian Bichsel: Questionable for Friday

Bichsel (illness) is likely to be a game-time Friday in Winnipeg, Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars reports.

Bichsel was under the weather when he woke up Thursday, head coach Peter DeBoer said, and was unsure whether or not Bichsel would be able to travel Thursday. The 20-year-old defenseman has two goals, three assists and 90 hits over 22 outings with Dallas this season. Should Bichsel sit out Friday, look for Brendan Smith to enter the lineup.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Between the pipes Thursday

Binnington will patrol the road crease in Pittsburgh on Thursday, according to Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic.

Binnington has been terrific of late, going 7-1-1 with a 2.39 GAA and a .907 save percentage since Feb. 2, pushing the Blues to within two points of the second Wild Card in the Western Conference. The Penguins are averaging 2.82 goals this season, 21st in the NHL.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting in Minnesota

Shesterkin will guard the visiting cage in Minnesota on Thursday, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports.

Shesterkin is 0-1-2 in his last three games, giving up nine goals on 87 shots (.897 save percentage). For the 2024-25 campaign, the 29-year-old netminder is 21-22-4 with four shutouts, a 2.87 GAA and a .905 save percentage, the worst numbers in his six-year NHL career. The Wild are generating only 2.74 goals per game, 24th in the NHL in 2024-25.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Unlikely Friday

Svechnikov (undisclosed) is improving but is doubtful to play in Friday's matchup with Detroit, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Svechnikov is currently mired in a seven-game goal drought dating back to Feb. 22 versus the Maple Leafs. With the winger still sidelined, Jackson Blake looks poised to fill a top-six role alongside Sebastian Aho. Barring an extended absence, Svechnikov should be capable of reaching the 20-goal mark after coming up just one tally shy of that mark last year. A back-to-back could make it tough for Svechnikov to be ready to face the Flyers on Saturday -- though he hasn't been officially ruled out.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Defending cage against Leafs

Bobrovsky will guard the crease on the road versus Toronto on Thursday.

Bobrovsky has been riding a four-game winning streak before falling to the Bruins on Tuesday. Still, the veteran backstop is 4-1-0 in his last five outings with a .941 save percentage and two shutouts. The Russian may not be taking home the Vezina Trophy this season -- that honor appears to be firmly headed to Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck -- but he should still receive a nomination as he likely cruises to another 30-win campaign.

  • Arthur Kaliyev RW | NYR

    Rangers' Arthur Kaliyev: Unavailable Thursday

Kaliyev (upper body) will not play Thursday in Minnesota and has returned home to New York, according to Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today.

Kaliyev got back into the lineup Tuesday after being a healthy scratch for seven consecutive games, but saw only 7:49 of action after averaging over 11:30 of ice time in his previous 13 games. He has three goals and one assists in 14 games in 2024-25. Brett Berard or Juuso Parssinen will enter the lineup in place of Kaliyev.

  • Golden Knights' Ivan Barbashev: Returning to action Thursday

Barbashev (personal) will be back in the lineup Thursday in Columbus, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Barbashev missed one game. He has 19 goals and 41 points across 53 contests this season, including a huge two-goal, two-assist effort against Chicago on Feb. 27. He should see fourth-line minutes alongside Brett Howden (personal) and Keegan Kolesar on Thursday.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Returning against Jackets

Howden (personal) will be in the lineup versus Columbus on Thursday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Howden missed just one game while attending to a personal matter but will be back in action Thursday. The 26-year-old forward is currently in the midst of an offensive upswing, having recorded one goal and seven helpers in his last eight contests. It's been a career year for Howden, having set new personal bests in goals (17) and points (30).

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Tending twine against Rangers

Gustavsson will patrol the crease for Thursday's home clash with the Rangers, Sarah McLellan of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Gustavsson has appeared in five of the Wild's last six outings in which he posted a 3-2-0 record and 1.98 GAA. With no back-to-backs on Minnesota's short-term schedule, the 26-year-old netminder should continue to see the bulk of the workload moving forward -- though veteran Marc-Andre Fleury could get the occasional spot start along the way.

  • Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: Game-time call Thursday

Kucherov (illness) will be a game-time decision versus Philadelphia on Thursday, Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun reports.

Kucherov left Tuesday's tilt in Carolina after the second period due to his illness and was a no-show at practice Thursday. Kucherov has 28 goals and 64 helpers over 61 appearances this season. Should Kucherov remain out of the lineup, look for Zemgus Girgensons to enter the lineup.
