Sabonis checked out of Friday's 122-106 loss to the Suns with 6:50 remaining in the fourth quarter after he appeared to aggravate a left hamstring strain, Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports. The center finished the contest with 12 points (4-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 12 assists, 11 rebounds, three steals and one block in 30 minutes.
Though he had missed the Kings' previous six games with the hamstring injury, Sabonis didn't seem to be operating under any restrictions in his return to action. Sabonis took back his spot in the starting five and came away with his ninth triple-double of the season, but his status will now warrant monitoring again heading into Monday's game against the Grizzlies after he was spotted grabbing at his hamstring around the eight-minute mark of Friday's contest. Sabonis initially stayed in the game before exiting for good during a timeout a minute later. Though the Kings were trailing by 21 at the time of Sabonis' departure, Sacramento's other four starters stayed in the game coming out of the timeout, which suggests that Sabonis' exit wasn't merely precautionary. If Sabonis ends up sitting out again Monday, Jonas Valanciunas would likely step back into the starting five and take on heavy minutes.

The Kings announced Saturday that Sabonis (hamstring) is making progress in his return-to-play plan, has been cleared for individual on-court workouts and will be re-evaluated Tuesday, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Sabonis was diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain at the beginning of March and was slated to miss at least a week. If the big man's evaluation goes well Tuesday, he could return to action as soon as Thursday in Golden State. However, that's the first half of a back-to-back set, and Friday's contest in Phoenix is Sacramento's final outing of the current week. Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Out at least one week
The Kings announced Sunday that Sabonis will be re-evaluated in one week after he was diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain, Matt George of ABC 10 Sacramento reports.
Sabonis sustained the injury in the first quarter of Saturday's 113-103 win over the Rockets, playing just one minute before exiting the game for good. Though an MRI confirmed only a minor strain of his hamstring, Sabonis will still miss the entirety of the Kings' upcoming-four game week, and quite likely, additional time beyond that. After Sabonis' early exit Saturday, Jonas Valanciunas stepped in to finish with 15 points, 14 rebounds, four steals, three blocks and one assist in 30 minutes. Valanciunas will likely start for the duration of Sabonis' absence and is worthy of a pickup in nearly every league where he's available.

Sabonis fouled out of Saturday's 123-118 victory over New Orleans after recording a team-high 27 points (10-18 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-10 FT), 16 rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes.
The Kings were staring at a 20-point deficit before the first quarter was over, but Sabonis helped fuel the comeback with his league-leading 46th double-double of the season. Over 19 games since the calendar flipped to January, Sabonis is averaging 20.2 points, 15.5 boards, 6.5 assists and 1.3 threes while shooting 60.3 percent from the floor and an eye-popping 51.0 percent from beyond the arc.

Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Quiet scoring night in loss
Sabonis accumulated 10 points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 108-102 loss to the Trail Blazers.
The double-double was his third straight and league-leading 45th of the season, but the 10 points represented Sabonis' lowest output of the campaign. In two games since Zach LaVine joined the Kings' lineup, Sabonis has attempted only 16 field goals as the team's new starting five works to build chemistry -- a worrying decline in his volume, but something which could end up being just a short-term blip in his numbers. Sabonis has stayed busy on the glass however, pulling down 27 boards over those two contests.
