Tatum is out for Sunday's game versus the Hornets due to rest purposes. Tatum, along with Boston's other typical starters, will sit out the regular-season finale due to the team already being locked into the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Sam Hauser, Baylor Scheierman and Torrey Craig are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Tatum should be able to return to action for Boston's first-round matchup in the playoffs.... See More ... See Less

Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Set to play against Charlotte
Tatum isn't on the injury report for Friday's game versus the Hornets, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Tatum will return to action Friday after sitting out Boston's previous contest due to a left ankle sprain. However, with Boston already locked into the second seed in the Eastern Conference, it wouldn't be surprising for Tatum to play less than a full workload.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Won't play Wednesday
Tatum will not play Wednesday against the Magic due to a left ankle sprain, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Presumably, this is just a maintenance day for the second leg of this back-to-back set -- Derrick White (ankle), Kristaps Porzingis (rest), Al Horford (knee) and Jrue Holiday (shoulder) are all being held out as well, while Jaylen Brown (knee) is questionable. During Tuesday's overtime win over the Knicks, Tatum finished with 32 points (11-22 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 6-8 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 48 minutes.... See More ... Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Pours in 32 in OT win
Tatum finished with 32 points (11-22 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 6-8 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 48 minutes during Tuesday's 119-117 overtime win over New York. The Celtics went with a short bench Tuesday, and it got even shorter as Jaylen Brown sat out the fourth quarter and OT, but Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis (with a team-high 34 points) were able to drag Boston across the finish line. Over 14 appearances since the beginning of March, Tatum is averaging 27.0 points, 8.1 boards, 6.5 assists, 3.0 threes and 0.9 steals.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Playing against Knicks
Tatum (ankle) is available for Tuesday's game against the Knicks, John Karalis of BostonSportsJournal.com reports. Tatum was one of several Boston players who were listed as questionable for this contest, but the star forward will suit up and handle his regular workload on offense as the Celtics' go-to option on offense. Tatum is averaging 25.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 0.7 steals per game over his last 10 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Questionable for Tuesday
Tatum (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Knicks, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Tatum is in jeopardy of missing his second consecutive game due to a sprained left ankle. If the superstar is unable to suit up against New York, Torrey Craig, Sam Hauser and Xavier Tillman are all candidates to absorb extra minutes, especially with Al Horford (knee) being sidelined as well. Tatum has averaged 23.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.6 assists across 33.4 minutes per game in his last five outings.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Won't play vs. Washington
Tatum (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Wizards. After coming two rebounds and two assists shy of a triple-double in Friday's game against the Suns, Tatum will not play Sunday against Washington due to a sprained left ankle. The Celtics will likely turn to Sam Hauser to help pick up the slack in the superstar's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Iffy for Sunday
Tatum (ankle) has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Wizards. Tatum is coming off a near triple-double in Friday's game against the Suns, finishing with 23 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. However, he's dealing with a sprained left ankle, which could keep him sidelined Sunday against Washington. If Tatum cannot play, the Celtics will likely turn to Sam Hauser to help shoulder the load.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Comes close to triple-double
Tatum racked up 23 points (9-18 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists, one block and one steal across 35 minutes during Friday's 123-103 victory over the Suns. Tatum had a rough shooting performance from beyond the arc, but that's perhaps the only negative aspect of this performance. The star forward finished just two boards and two dimes away from a triple-double while the Celtics cruised to a 20-point victory. Tatum has been one of the most consistent superstars in the league this season, and while his scoring numbers have regressed a bit of late, it shouldn't be anything that should worry fantasy managers. Tatum is ending the campaign on a strong note, even though the Celtics have already booked a postseason berth. He's averaging 24.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.9 assists and a combined 1.6 steals-plus-blocks across 33.9 minutes per game over his last seven outings.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Posts strong double-double
Tatum registered 25 points (10-24 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists and one block over 38 minutes during Monday's 117-103 win over the Grizzlies. Tatum wasn't the leading scorer for the Celtics in this contest, but the star forward still found a way to make his presence felt on the scoresheet with an excellent double-double. Tatum has recorded back-to-back double-doubles for the first time since doing so on Feb. 28 and March 2. He finished the month of March with strong averages of 27.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists and a combined 1.4 steals-plus-blocks per game.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Teases triple-double in return
Tatum ended Saturday's 121-111 win over the Spurs with a game-high 29 points (10-22 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 10 rebounds, eight assists and one block in 36 minutes. In addition to leading all scorers on the night, Tatum fell a couple dimes short of his third triple-double of the season, instead settling for his 30th double-double -- the second time in his career he's recorded 30 or more. It was an impressive return from a one-game absence due to a nagging ankle injury, and the issue hasn't impacted his production when he's been on the court -- the 27-year-old superstar has scored at least 20 points in nine straight appearances, averaging 29.6 points, 7.9 boards, 6.9 assists, 3.6 threes and 1.1 steals over that stretch.... Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Will play vs. San Antonio
Tatum (ankle) has been cleared to play in Saturday's game against the Spurs, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. After missing Wednesday's win against the Suns due to an ankle injury, Tatum will be back on the floor for the defending NBA champions Saturday in San Antonio. The superstar forward is averaging 27.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.1 steals and a career-high 6.0 assists per game, shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from beyond the arc.... Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Won't play Wednesday
Tatum (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Suns, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Tatum suffered a sprained left ankle during Monday's game against the Kings, which will keep him out Wednesday in Phoenix. The Celtics will likely turn to Al Horford and Sam Hauser to shoulder the load against the Suns.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Upgraded to questionable
Tatum (ankle) has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's game against the Suns, Marc D'Amico of the Celtics' official site reports. Tatum went from doubtful to questionable after participating in Boston's morning shootaround. The superstar forward has been filling up the stat sheet on a nightly basis, but he sprained his ankle during Monday's win over the Kings, finishing with 25 points (8-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 4-8 FT), eight assists and seven rebounds in 26 minutes. Tatum is trending in the right direction but can be considered a true game-time decision Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Unlikely to play against Phoenix
Tatum (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game versus the Suns, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Tatum sprained his left ankle against Sacramento on Monday and is now expected to remain sidelined versus Phoenix. However, the star forward not initially being ruled out is a good sign that he avoided a significant injury. If Tatum is ultimately downgraded to out, Al Horford and Sam Hauser should receive increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Sprains ankle, doesn't return
Tatum didn't return to Monday's game against the Kings after suffering a left ankle sprain in the third quarter, finishing with 25 points (8-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 4-8 FT), eight assists and seven rebounds in 26 minutes. Tatum was able to remain in the game to shoot his free throw after Domantas Sabonis was assessed a Flagrant 1 foul that inadvertently caused Tatum's ankle injury. After the free-throw attempt, Tatum limped to the locker room before the team listed him as doubtful to return due the ankle injury. While Tatum wasn't made available to speak to the media after the game, he appeared to be in good spirits at his locker and was spotted wearing sneakers on both feet, per Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, which is typically a good sign following an ankle injury. The star forward can be considered day-to-day until the team has time evaluate Tatum's ankle further.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Doubtful to return Monday
Tatum is doubtful to return to Monday's game against the Kings due to a sprained left ankle. Tatum came down on an opposing player's foot on a three-point attempt during the third quarter. He appeared to be in a considerable amount of pain, and he stayed down on the floor for an extended period before heading to the locker room. If Tatum is unable to return Monday, he'll finish the game with 25 points (8-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 4-8 FT), eight assists and seven rebounds across 26 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Heads to locker room Monday
Tatum exited in the third quarter of Monday's game against the Kings after suffering an apparent left ankle injury, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. The superstar forward came down on an opposing player's foot, and he appeared to be in a significant amount of pain while staying on the floor for an extended period. Tatum was able to stay in and shoot free throws before heading to the locker room, and he was able to walk off the court without any assistance. The Celtics should provide an update on Tatum's status shortly.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Sniffs triple-double
Tatum totaled 30 points (11-24 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), nine rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and one steal across 37 minutes during Sunday's 129-116 victory over the Trail Blazers. Tatum didn't have his best shooting performance and was particularly woeful from three-point range, but that won't matter much if he still reaches the 30-point mark. The star forward did more than just score, though, as he ended just one board and one assist away from a triple-double. Tatum has been outstanding all season long and isn't slowing down in recent weeks, as he's averaging 28.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game since the beginning of March.... Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Will play Sunday
Tatum (knee) is available for Sunday's game against Portland, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Tatum will shake off a questionable tag due to lingering right knee tendinopathy and suit up for his second consecutive contest Sunday. Over his last five outings, the superstar forward has averaged 29.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 3.8 three-pointers and 1.2 steals across 38.4 minutes per contest. He has shot 44.0 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from deep in that five-game span.... See More ... See Less
