Ellis produced 20 points (7-12 FG, 6-11 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 124-116 loss to the Nuggets. It's the first time since March 22 that Ellis has scored at least 20 points, while Wednesday represented his best performance from beyond the arc since he went 7-for-11 from three-point range against the Pelicans on Feb. 12. The third-year guard has started 11 straight games, averaging 9.4 points, 3.8 boards, 2.4 assists, 2.2 steals, 2.1 threes and 0.8 blocks over that span, and with Malik Monk (calf) potentially done for the year unless the Kings can advance out of the Play-In Tournament, Ellis will continue to be leaned on heavily in the backcourt.... Kings' Keon Ellis: Available Monday
Ellis (hand) is listed as available for Monday's game against Detroit. Ellis will shake off a questionable tag Monday due to a right hand injury. The 25-year-old combo guard has started in nine straight games, averaging 9.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.2 steals and 0.8 blocks across 30.2 minutes per contest in that nine-game span.... Kings' Keon Ellis: Questionable for Monday
Ellis is questionable for Monday's game versus Detroit with right hand soreness. Ellis logged 40 minutes in Sunday's 120-113 win over the Cavaliers with 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and four steals, but he apparently tweaked his hand in the process. Therefore, a maintenance day could be on the table for the second leg of this back-to-back set. If Ellis is held out, Markelle Fultz and Devin Carter could see an uptick in minutes for the Kings.... Kings' Keon Ellis: Shines on defensive end
Ellis contributed 12 points (4-11 FG, 4-8 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists, two blocks and four steals over 37 minutes during Tuesday's 121-105 loss to the Thunder. Yet again, Ellis made a massive impact on the defensive end -- this was his fifth game of the season with at least four steals, and his 14th game with at least a pair of blocks. Ellis has been logging a ton of minutes in the absence of Malik Monk (illness), averaging 15.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.0 steals, 0.7 blocks and 3.0 three-pointers over his last three games.... Kings' Keon Ellis: Impresses as starter
Ellis finished Monday's 113-95 loss to Boston with 14 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, four assists and two steals in 37 minutes. Malik Monk (illness) missed his second straight game Monday, and Ellis once again made the most of his extended look. In his last two starts, Ellis has logged 37 minutes in each game with averages of 17.0 points, 5.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.5 three-pointers. It remains to be seen if Monk will play Tuesday against the Thunder.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Fills in with 20 points
Ellis finished Saturday's 114-108 loss to the Bucks with 20 points (6-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds and six assists in 37 minutes. Ellis stepped in for Malik Monk (illness) and recorded his third-highest scoring total of the season during the defeat. Ellis has started 16 games this season and has provided ample backup support for the Kings. He's currently averaging career-best totals during his third year in the pros, averaging 8.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals over 68 games.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Starting sans Monk
Ellis will be in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Bucks. Ellis gets the nod to be in the first five for the Kings due to Malik Monk (illness) being ruled out Saturday. In 15 starts this season, the 24-year-old is averaging 10.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game, shooting 47.4 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc.... Kings' Keon Ellis: Back to bench Thursday
Ellis is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Bulls, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Ellis will revert to a bench role following the return of Zach LaVine, who missed Wednesday's win over the Cavaliers. Ellis, who posted 13 points, four rebounds and two assists in that win, is averaging 7.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game when coming off the bench this season.... See More ... Kings' Keon Ellis: Starting sans Monk
Ellis is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports. Due to the absence of Malik Monk (toe) on Wednesday, Ellis will move into the starting lineup and have a chance to provide enhanced fantasy value. Across 11 games in Sacramento's first unit this year, Ellis has averaged 10.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 2.1 assists, 0.8 blocks and 2.2 three-pointers in 30.4 minutes while shooting 45.3 percent from deep.... Kings' Keon Ellis: Available to play
Ellis (ankle) will be available for Wednesday's game against the Jazz. Ellis picked up a right ankle sprain during the second quarter of Monday's win over the Hornets and did not return, but was able to go through portions of practice Tuesday. The guard has put up averages of 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.1 three-pointers through 10 February appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Iffy for Wednesday
Ellis (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Utah, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Ellis sustained a minor right ankle sprain during the second quarter of Monday's win over the Hornets and did not return. However, the 25-year-old was seen putting shots up after Tuesday's practice, which bodes well for his potential return in the near future, per Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140. If Ellis remains on the shelf Wednesday, Markelle Fultz and Devin Carter are candidates for an uptick in playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Won't return Monday
Ellis won't return to Monday's game against the Hornets due to a right ankle injury. Ellis appeared to roll his ankle after landing on an opposing player's foot during the second quarter. He notched six points (2-2 FG, 2-2 3Pt) across nine minutes before exiting to the locker room. The 25-year-old reportedly planned to return during the second half, though he experienced an increase in soreness while putting shots up during the halftime break, per Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee. Ellis will look to move past the ankle injury ahead of the Kings' next game Wednesday versus the Jazz.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Drops team-high 27 points
Ellis racked up 27 points (10-14 FG, 7-11 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 119-111 win over the Pelicans. Ellis continued his strong play of late, this time on the offensive end. He ended by scoring at least 20 points for just the second time all season while adding his usual dose of defensive stats. He has now played at least 29 minutes in three straight games, with the coaching staff finding ways to get him on the court a bit more. With that said, his strengths lie on the defensive end of the court, meaning an offensive showing like this shouldn't be something to expect on a nightly basis.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Slides to bench
Ellis is not part of the Kings' starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Magic, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Zach LaVine (personal/recently traded) is available to make his Kings debut, pushing Ellis to the second unit after he drew the spot start Monday. In 36 appearances off the bench this season, Ellis is averaging 6.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.2 steals across 19.1 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Officially questionable for Sunday
Ellis (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Wizards. The questionable tag was always the expectation for Ellis, who practiced Saturday and has a shot at being available for this matchup against Washington. Ellis exited Thursday's game versus the Rockets early due to an ankle injury, and a decision on his status will be made closer to Sunday's 9 p.m. ET tipoff.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Practices Saturday, iffy for Sunday
Ellis (ankle) fully participated in Saturday's practice and will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Wizards, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Ellis exited Thursday's game versus the Rockets early due to an ankle injury. However, the 24-year-old guard appears to have avoided a serious injury and could return to action as soon as Sunday's matchup with Washington.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Heads to locker room
Ellis went to the locker room during the third quarter of Thursday's game against the Rockets with an apparent right ankle injury, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports. Ellis went down and appeared to be in a lot of pain after stepping on Domantas Sabonis' foot, which led him to roll his right ankle. It's unclear if the former Alabama standout will be able to return to the contest.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Logs 18 points with first unit
Ellis chipped in 18 points (5-11 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 130-115 loss to the Bucks. Ellis' perimeter game was on point Tuesday, with five three-pointers in eight attempts beyond the arc. Although Malik Monk (groin) has cemented his first-unit role, Ellis got a chance to shine during his teammate's absence. Ellis has also played as a replacement for De'Aaron Fox, making Ellis the team's top second-unit option in the backcourt.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Getting starting nod
Ellis is in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Bucks, Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports. Ellis will replace Malik Monk (groin) in the starting lineup Tuesday. Ellis is averaging 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.2 assists in 30.1 minutes during his other nine starting appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Keon Ellis: Fills up stat sheet in win
Ellis chipped in 17 points (6-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals over 49 minutes during Monday's 123-118 double-overtime win over the Heat. Ellis got the job done on both ends of the floor during Monday's win against the Heat. The game against Miami was Ellis' fourth straight start and his best all-around performance as a starter this season.... See More ... See Less
