Lindgren allowed four goals on 22 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders. Lindgren took his first loss in four appearances in April, though he's allowed 12 goals on 87 shots in that span. The 31-year-old gave up a pair in the first period, and the Capitals' offense didn't have a comeback in them even with Alex Ovechkin setting the all-time goals record with his 895th career tally at 7:26 of the second period. Lindgren slipped to 18-13-3 with a 2.71 GAA and an .894 save percentage over 36 appearances this season. Logan Thompson (upper body) has been out for the last two games, and Lindgren will continue to see a heavy workload until Thompson is healthy again.... See More ... See Less

Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Tending twine Sunday
Lindgren will defend the road net against the Islanders on Sunday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com. Lindgren is coming off a 19-save effort in Friday's 5-3 win over Chicago. He has posted a record of 18-12-3 with one shutout, a 2.67 GAA and an .896 save percentage through 35 appearances this season. Lindgren will be Washington's No. 1 netminder until Logan Thompson (upper body) is ready to return to the lineup. The Islanders sit 25th in the league with 2.72 goals per game in 2024-25.... Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Gives up three goals in win
Lindgren stopped 19 of 22 shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Blackhawks. Lindgren has allowed either two or three goals in eight straight outings, going 5-2-0 in that span. The Blackhawks scored all three of their goals in the first two periods before the Capitals took over in the third in a game that saw Alex Ovechkin pull even with Wayne Gretzky atop the all-time goals list. Lindgren was able to improve to 18-12-3 despite a fairly mediocre outing. He's added a 2.67 GAA and an .896 save percentage over 35 appearances this season. Lindgren will likely operate as the Capitals' No. 1 goalie until Logan Thompson (upper body) is able to return. The Capitals visit the Islanders on Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Tending twine Friday
Lindgren will be between the home pipes versus Chicago on Friday, according to Sammi Silber of The Hockey News. Lindgren will replace the injured Logan Thompson (upper body) as the Capitals' No. 1 goaltender in the short-term. Lindgren is 17-12-3 with one shutout, a 2.66 GAA and an .897 save percentage across 34 appearances in 2024-25. The Blackhawks are tied for 27th in NHL scoring this season, generating 2.69 goals per game.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Needed in relief Wednesday
Lindgren turned aside 17 of 19 shots after replacing Logan Thompson (upper body) to begin the second period of Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Hurricanes. Neither Washington goalie saw much success in this one, but the loss went on Thompson's ledger. Lindgren has allowed three goals or fewer in all seven of his outings since the beginning of March, going 4-2-0 with a 2.54 GAA and .898 save percentage over that span while working in a timeshare with Thompson. Lindgren's workload would be set to increase dramatically if the other netminder's injury proves to be serious.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Earns win Tuesday
Lindgren stopped 21 of 24 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Bruins. Lindgren continues to rotate with Logan Thompson between the pipes for the Capitals, and he continues to respond whenever he's called upon. Lindgren has gone 3-2-0 with a 2.62 GAA and a .901 save percentage over his last five appearances, but the fact that he's posted a save percentage below .890 in three of those outings could be concerning for fantasy managers who are considering Lindgren as a streaming option.... Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Facing Boston
Lindgren will protect the road crease Tuesday against the Bruins, according to Tom Gulitti of NHL.com. Lindgren has alternated wins and losses over his last four appearances, with his last start coming in a 4-2 loss to Minnesota on Thursday. The 31-year-old is sporting a 16-12-3 record, 2.65 GAA and .897 save percentage over 32 outings this season. Lindgren is a strong play for this matchup against a Boston club that has produced 2.61 goals per game this season, the fourth-worst mark in the NHL.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Concedes three tallies in loss
Lindgren stopped 17 of 20 shots on goal in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Wild. Lindgren's outing started strong, but he ended up allowing a pair of goals in the second period, which would be enough for the Wild to grab the win. Overall, the 31-year-old netminder has a 16-12-3 record with a 2.65 GAA and an .897 save percentage. Since the beginning of March, Lindgren has gone 3-2-0 with a .903 save percentage across five outings. Washington's top netminder Logan Thompson is likely slated for the majority of starts as the Capitals look to secure the highest seed in the Eastern Conference, so Lindgren is best used as a streaming option in the fantasy playoffs but has heightened value against struggling offenses.... Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Gets no help in loss
Lindgren allowed three goals on 27 shots in Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Kings. Lindgren gave up two goals in a span of 47 seconds early in the third period, and that proved too much for the Capitals to overcome. Prior to Thursday, the 31-year-old netminder had won four of his last five outings. He's now 15-11-3 with a 2.65 GAA and an .899 save percentage across 30 starts this season. If the Capitals continue on their goalie rotation, Logan Thompson would start the road-trip finale in San Jose on Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Exits ice first
Lindgren was the first goalie off the ice Thursday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports, indicating he'll patrol the blue paint on the road against the Kings. Lindgren is back to splitting the workload with Logan Thompson, having started two of the Capitals' last four outings in which he posted a 2-0-0 record and 1.93 GAA. Given the current rotation, fantasy managers should probably expect Thompson to get the road start versus the Sharks on Saturday before Lindgren is back between the pipes at home Tuesday against Detroit.... Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Defending crease Sunday
Lindgren will protect the home net against Seattle on Sunday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Lindgren is coming off a 15-save effort in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers. He has won three of his last four outings despite surrendering 12 goals on 82 shots. He has a 14-10-3 record with one shutout, a 2.66 GAA and an .896 save percentage through 28 appearances this season. Seattle is tied for 14th in the league with 2.95 goals per game in 2024-25 and earned a 4-1 win over Philadelphia on Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Subpar outing Thursday
Lindgren stopped 14 of 18 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Blues. The fifth goal was an empty-netter with 1:55 left in the third period. Lindgren had won his previous two starts, but he never got it going Thursday and suffered his first loss in regulation since Jan. 25, when he stopped 23 of 25 shots in a 2-1 loss to the Canucks. Lindgren has been rotating between the pipes with Logan Thompson and has posted a 3-2-1 record with a 2.84 GAA and a .884 save percentage across his last six outings. Lindgren should continue to see a decent amount of opportunities between the posts going forward.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Leaves ice first
Lindgren was the first goalie to exit the ice Thursday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports, indicating he'll be between the pipes at home versus the Blues. Lindgren is undefeated in regulation over his last three outings, posting a 2-0-1 record to go with a 3.64 GAA. Despite his strong run, the 31-year-old netminder has found himself playing second fiddle behind Logan Thompson, who has been seeing the bulk of the starts recently. Still, Lindgren should see more opportunities than most No. 2 goalies in the league.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Triumphant against Edmonton
Lindgren stopped 22 of 25 shots faced during Sunday's 7-3 home win over the Oilers. Lindgren was buoyed by another effort of seven-plus goals by the Capitals, including a hat trick from Alex Ovechkin. The 31-year-old improves to a 2.63 GAA and a .900 save percentage to go along with a 13-9-3 record in 26 starts and is likely to be in action when the Capitals face the Blues on Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Starting against Philadelphia
Lindgren will start on the road against the Flyers on Thursday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports. Lindgren was inconsistent to close out January, as he picked up his first shutout win of the season on the road against the Kraken on Jan. 23 before settling for losses in each of his last two appearances. Across those two outings -- which came against the Canucks and Senators -- he went 0-1-1 with a 3.49 GAA and .881 save percentage. He didn't appear in either of the Capitals' last two games but will have a somewhat favorable matchup against the Flyers, who rank 23rd in the league with 2.78 goals per game.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Unlucky loss Saturday
Lindgren stopped 23 of 25 shots in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Canucks. The Capitals altered their goaltending rotation to allow Logan Thompson to start Tuesday in his hometown of Calgary. That meant a second straight start for Lindgren, who played well but didn't get much help from his teammates in this narrow loss. Quinn Hughes had both of the goals for the Canucks. Lindgren slipped to 11-9-2 with a 2.51 GAA and a .904 save percentage over 23 appearances. Assuming the alternating pattern resumes next week, Lindgren should be penciled in to start in the road-trip finale at Ottawa on Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Set to face Vancouver
Lindgren is expected to start on the road against Vancouver on Saturday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports. Lindgren will make his second straight start after earning a 22-save shutout win over Seattle on Thursday. He's 11-8-2 with a 2.53 GAA and a .904 save percentage in 22 outings this season. The Canucks are tied for 23rd in goals per game with 2.81. Logan Thompson will get the nod for Tuesday's road game versus Calgary.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Earns shutout in return to action
Lindgren posted a 22-save shutout in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Kraken. This was Lindgren's first game action since Jan. 10 versus the Canadiens. The 31-year-old had lost his previous four results (0-2-2), but he snapped that skid with his first shutout of the season. His upper-body injury gave Logan Thompson a chance to gain some momentum between the pipes, so it's possible Lindgren may not see the steady 50-50 split of playing time there was prior to his absence. Lindgren is 10-8-2 with a 2.65 GAA and a .900 save percentage over 21 outings. The Capitals continue their road trip in Vancouver on Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Guarding cage against Kraken
Lindgren will patrol the crease on the road versus Seattle on Thursday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports. Lindgren will make his first appearance in the crease since Jan. 10 against the Habs when he suffered an upper-body injury. The netminder is currently stuck in a four-game losing streak during which he posted a 3.16 GAA. Barring any setbacks, Lindgren could work his way into a split share, something the duo managed well for most of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Lands on IR
Lindgren (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Lindgren won't be eligible to play until at least Jan. 18 against Pittsburgh after moving to the IR list. He sustained the injury in Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to Montreal. Lindgren has a 10-8-2 record with a 2.65 GAA and a .900 save percentage across 21 appearances this season. Washington summoned Hunter Shepard from AHL Hershey in a corresponding move to occupy the backup role behind Logan Thompson.... See More ... See Less
