Panthers' Aleksander Barkov: Questionable ahead of Game 3
Barkov (undisclosed) hasn't been ruled out for Game 3 against the Lightning on Saturday but also hasn't been given the all-clear, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
Barkov's absence would create a significant hole in the Panthers' lineup, especially considering he is riding a five-game point streak in which he generated one goal and six helpers, including a pair of power-play points. If Barkov does miss out Saturday, Sam Bennett would be the most logical choice to step into the first-line role.

Panthers' Jesse Puljujarvi: Sent to AHL
Puljujarvi was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Friday, according to Panthers' beat reporter Alex Baumgartner.
Puljujarvi was recalled Tuesday to serve his two-game suspension for an illegal hit to the head on Tampa Bay's Mitchell Chaffee on April 15. Puljujarvi had one goal in five regular-season games with the Panthers after he was released by the Penguins on Feb. 9. Puljujarvi had five goals and eight assists in 22 AHL games before his recall and will likely suit up for Charlotte when the Checkers resume play in the Atlantic Division Semifinals.

Panthers' Jesse Puljujarvi: Suspension served
Puljujarvi has served his two-game suspension and is eligible to play for the Panthers in Game 3 on Saturday.
Puljujarvi, despite being eligible to suit up in Game 3, will likely be sent back to AHL Charlotte to play in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Still, the injury to Aleksander Barkov (undisclosed) could keep Puljujarvi on the NHL roster for the time being in the event they need the extra forward depth.

Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Eligible to return Saturday
Eklblad has served his 20-game suspension and will be eligible to face the Lightning in Game 3 on Saturday.
Ekblad figures to slot into a top-four pairing in addition to linking up with one of the power-play units. Prior to his ban, the veteran blueliner was riding a six-game point streak in which he racked up seven helpers, including a pair with the man advantage. Uvis Balinskis figures to be the odd man out on the blue line with Ekblad back in the lineup.

Panthers' Sam Bennett: Deposits empty-netter
Bennett scored an empty-net goal on four shots, added two hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Lightning in Game 2.
Bennett beat the buzzer, scoring at 19:56 of the third period to put the finishing touches on the Panthers' win. They're up 2-0 in the series, and Bennett has contributed three points, nine hits and a plus-3 rating in those two contests. He's centering the second line and looks no worse for wear after missing four games late in the season due to an upper-body injury.

Panthers' Nate Schmidt: Third goal in two playoff games
Schmidt scored the game-winning goal Thursday in a 2-0 win over the Lightning in Game 2.
Schmidt fired a one-timer from above the right circle that beat Andrei Vasilevskiy to the far post. He has been a surprise so far this postseason. After putting up five goals during the regular season, Schmidt has wired three in two playoff games.

Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Fourth career playoff shutout
Bobrovsky made 19 saves in a 2-0 win over the Lightning in Game 2 on Thursday.
It was Bobrovsky's fourth career postseason shutout, and it was his first since he and the kitties beat the Oilers 3-0 in Game 1 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals. He made several great saves to preserve the lead. Late in the second, Bobrovsky stoned Brayden Point who was alone in the slot. And then he made a sparkling glove save on an open-look slapper by J.J. Moser from the right circle with 3:27 left in the game. The Panthers lead the series 2-0, with Game 3 in Sunrise on Saturday afternoon.

Panthers' Aleksander Barkov: Sustains injury during Game 2
Barkov suffered an undisclosed injury during Game 2's 2-0 victory over Tampa Bay on Thursday. Head coach Paul Maurice didn't have an update on the 29-year-old's status after the game, Colby Guy of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Barkov sustained the injury on a hit from Tampa Bay's Brandon Hagel in the third period that resulted in Hagel receiving a five-minute major for interference. Barkov registered an assist across 15:41 of ice time before exiting the game. He had 20 goals and 71 points in 67 regular-season appearances. If Barkov can't play, then Tomas Nosek might draw into the lineup.

Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: In goal Thursday
Bobrovsky will protect the road goal in Thursday's Game 2 versus the Lightning, Rob Darragh of the Panthers' official site reports.
Bobrovsky stopped 20 of 22 shots in Tuesday's Game 1 win, and he'll look to stretch the Panthers' lead again Thursday. The 36-year-old is 3-3-0 with a 2.36 GAA and an .896 save percentage over six outings in April.

Panthers' Vladislav Lukashevich: Entering transfer portal
Lukashevich will enter the transfer portal and leave Michigan State after just one season, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports Thursday.
Lukashevich managed one goal and six assists in 29 games for the Spartans this year. Selected by the Panthers in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Draft, the 21-year-old blueliner looks poised to spend at least one more season in college before making the jump to the professional ranks -- though it could certainly be longer.

Panthers' Dmitry Kulikov: Provides helper Tuesday
Kulikov notched an assist and five hits in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Lightning in Game 1.
This was Kulikov's third game back after he missed 12 contests due to an upper-body injury. The 34-year-old defenseman is once again in a top-four role, though he could see a slight drop in minutes once Aaron Ekblad (suspension) comes back for Saturday's Game 3. Kulikov is a reliable shutdown defender, and he earned 13 points, 114 hits, 71 blocked shots and a plus-12 rating over 70 regular-season appearances.

Panthers' Mackie Samoskevich: Generates assist in playoff debut
Samoskevich registered an assist and four hits in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Lightning in Game 1.
Samoskevich stayed on the second line for the playoff opener, which was his postseason debut. That could change if the Panthers opt to move Brad Marchand up to play alongside Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk later in the playoffs. Samoskevich has been good in his first full NHL campaign -- he earned 15 goals, 31 points, 129 shots on net, 134 hits and a minus-4 rating over 72 regular-season outings.

Panthers' Brad Marchand: Adds assist in Game 1 win
Marchand logged an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Lightning in Game 1.
Marchand set up the first of Nate Schmidt's two goals in the contest. The 36-year-old Marchand had four points over 10 regular-season outings with the Panthers after he recovered from an upper-body injury he sustained near the end of his tenure with the Bruins. The winger won't be leaned on to be a leader on offense, but he should be capable of providing depth scoring while playing in all situations during the postseason.

Panthers' Carter Verhaeghe: Picks up helper in win
Verhaeghe notched an assist, two shots on goal and three hits in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Lightning in Game 1.
Verhaeghe helped out on a go-ahead goal by Sam Reinhart late in the first period. The 29-year-old Verhaeghe is turning things around with at least one point in six straight games (three goals, four assists). He had a mediocre regular season of 20 goals and 53 points in 81 appearances, a drop of 19 points compared to 2023-24. He's still logging top-line minutes to begin the playoffs, which puts him in a position to rack up plenty of offense.

Panthers' Aleksander Barkov: Earns two power-play helpers
Barkov notched two power-play assists, three hits and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Lightning in Game 1.
Barkov helped out on goals by Matthew Tkachuk and Nate Schmidt as the Panthers ran away with the series opener. The 29-year-old Barkov was limited to four of the last nine regular-season games and managed to put up a goal and three assists in that span. He dealt with an upper-body injury for part of that time, but the captain will likely lead by example and play through the pain during the playoffs. He had a total of 20 goals and 71 points in 67 regular-season appearances.

Panthers' Sam Bennett: Logs two points in win
Bennett scored a goal, dished an assist, doled out seven hits and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Lightning in Game 1.
Bennett opened the scoring at 3:44 of the first period and helped out on the first of Nate Schmidt's two goals later in the contest. This was Bennett's first multi-point effort since his two-goal game versus Utah on March 27. He was limited to two helpers over the six contests in between, though he also missed four games due to an upper-body injury. The 28-year-old is known for elevating his game in the playoffs, and if he can do that after a career-best 51-point regular season, he'll give the Panthers valuable scoring from a second-line role.
