Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Expected to miss multiple weeks
Rotowire
Prescott is expected to miss multiple weeks with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Falcons, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The injury is worse than initially feared, Rapoport added, and Prescott will get a second opinion to confirm the diagnosis. A trip to injured reserve could be in Prescott's future, but the Cowboys may choose to keep him on the roster in the event he's healed before missing the four games he'd be required to sit out if on injured reserve. Cooper Rush and Trey Lance are Dallas' backup quarterbacks, and it's been Rush who's been active on game days as the QB2. One of them looks to be in line to start next Sunday's divisional tilt against the Eagles.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Scheduled for MRI
Rotowire
Prescott is slated to undergo an MRI on the hamstring he injured during Sunday's 27-21 loss to the Falcons, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Per Archer, Prescott said afterward that he "felt something he never felt before" in his hamstring prior to his exit from the contest. While the quarterback noted that he's a quick healer and that it will take "a lot" for him to "not to be out there," his status is nonetheless worth tracking closely as next Sunday's game against the Eagles approaches. If Prescott is unavailable, Cooper Rush would likely be in line to draw the Week 10 start in his place.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Hurts hamstring Sunday
Rotowire
Prescott won't return to Sunday's game against the Falcons due to a hamstring injury, Nick Eatman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Prior to being forced out of the contest, Prescott completed 18 of his 24 pass attempts for 133 yards and a TD, while adding three carries for 30 yards. In his absence, Cooper Rush is in at quarterback for the Cowboys.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: QBs to Start
Rotowire
Prescott only scored 17.6 Fantasy points in Week 8 at San Francisco, and he's been held under 20 Fantasy points in consecutive games going back to Week 6. I expect him to snap that streak in Week 9 against the Falcons, who have allowed three of the past four quarterbacks to score at least 21.8 Fantasy points, including two in a row with Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield. Given the matchup, I'm still trusting Prescott as a No. 1 Fantasy quarterback in all leagues.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Two TDs in failed comeback bid
Rotowire
Prescott completed 25 of 38 passes for 243 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 30-24 loss to the 49ers. He also rushed once for minus-1 yard.
Prescott's first-half numbers weren't pretty (110 passing yards and an interception), but the Cowboys nonetheless took a 10-6 lead into the locker room. San Francisco's offense woke up in the third quarter while Dallas' remained dormant, as the 49ers scored 21 unanswered third-quarter points while Prescott threw for only six yards and his second interception of the night. He finally heated up in the fourth quarter with touchdown passes of seven and 20 yards to CeeDee Lamb before logging four consecutive incompletions on Dallas' final possession. After throwing a league-high 36 touchdowns compared to nine interceptions last season, Prescott has a pedestrian 10:8 TD:INT heading into a Week 9 road game against the Falcons.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Pulled late in blowout loss
Rotowire
Prescott completed 17 of 33 passes for 178 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 47-9 loss to the Lions. He added one rush for one yard.
Prescott got off to a decent start, leading the Cowboys to a nine-play, 54-yard drive that resulted in a field goal on the team's opening possession. He went 4-for-6 for 46 yards -- and also had a pick called back for defensive holding -- but that was the highlight of his game. From there, he completed only 13 of 27 passes while averaging 4.9 yards per attempt with a pair of interceptions that led directly to 10 points for the Lions. Given the state of the game, Prescott sat most of the fourth quarter and failed to throw a touchdown for the first time this season. The Cowboys will get a well-timed bye in Week 7.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: QBs to Start
Rotowire
I didn't expect Prescott to play well in Week 5 at Pittsburgh, but he managed to score 20.4 Fantasy points despite three turnovers. He's now scored at least 20 Fantasy points in three games in a row, including two outings with at least 350 passing yards. He has the chance for another solid performance in Week 6 against the Lions, who have allowed two of four quarterbacks to score at least 20.8 Fantasy points. This game has the highest projected total of the week at 52.5 points, and Prescott has top-five upside in this matchup at home.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Leads team to comeback victory
Rotowire
Prescott completed 29 of 42 pass attempts for 352 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while adding three rushing yards on one attempt in Sunday's 20-17 win over Pittsburgh.
A lengthy weather delay and slow start on offense had the Cowboys in danger of falling to 2-3 on the season. Prescott carried the team in the second half, throwing two touchdowns to lift his team past a difficult defense on the road. The 31-year-old connected with Jalen Tolbert on his second scoring strike in the closing moments of Sunday night's win. Prescott has thrown for two touchdowns and no interceptions for three weeks running, eclipsing 350 passing yards in two of those three contests. The 3-2 Cowboys will prepare to face the Lions in a home tilt next Sunday.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: QBs to Sit
Rotowire
Prescott has looked more like himself the past two games against the Ravens and Giants, and he's averaging 27.3 Fantasy points over that span. Prior to that in matchups against Cleveland and New Orleans, Prescott averaged 14.2 Fantasy points in those outings. This week, I expect Prescott to be closer to that level of production. No quarterback has scored more than 19 Fantasy points against the Steelers this season. And Prescott is averaging 19.2 Fantasy points per game in his past five outings on the road.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Two TD passes in win
Rotowire
Prescott completed 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding two carries for minus-1 yard in the Cowboys' 20-15 win over the Giants on Thursday night.
It wasn't the prettiest of wins for the Cowboys, but Prescott was able to play a clean, highly efficient game while taking only one sack. The veteran signal-caller connected with seven different targets, hitting the duo of CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson for seven catches apiece to lead the way. Prescott linked up with Rico Dowdle and Lamb for touchdown passes of 15 and 55 yards, respectively, in the first half, generating his second two-TD tally through the air in the last five days. Prescott and his teammates next gear up for a challenging road interconference clash with the Steelers on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: QBs to Start
Rotowire
Prescott just had his best game of the season in Week 3 against Baltimore with 33.9 Fantasy points, and hopefully that's a sign of things to come. He should stay hot in Week 4 at the Giants, and he has a great history in this NFC East rivalry. In his past five games against the Giants, Prescott is averaging 265.4 passing yards with 11 total touchdowns and four interceptions. He threw for 404 yards, four touchdowns, one interception, and a rushing touchdown, the last time he played the Giants in 2023.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Attempts 51 passes in loss
Rotowire
Prescott completed 28 of 51 pass attempts for 379 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 28-25 loss to Baltimore. He added two rushes for seven yards and an additional touchdown.
Prescott and the Cowboys fell behind early, which led to a particularly pass-heavy offense. He was able to orchestrate several big plays, highlighted by six completions of at least 20 yards. Prescott also led a rally that came up just short, which included a one-yard rushing score as well as passing touchdowns of 15 and 16 yards. While it didn't lead to success for Dallas, Prescott had by far his best statistical performance of the year heading into a matchup Thursday against an exploitable Giants defense.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Bust Alert (Start/Sit)
Rotowire
Prescott has been a bad Fantasy quarterback so far this season, and it's tough to trust him heading into Week 3 against Baltimore. In two games against the Browns and Saints, Prescott is averaging just 14.2 Fantasy points per game, and the last time he scored fewer than 20 Fantasy points in consecutive games was Weeks 4 and 5 last season. Baltimore's defense once again has been tough on opposing quarterbacks in holding Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew to an average of 15.5 Fantasy points per game so far this year. I would only start Prescott in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Productive in Sunday's loss
Rotowire
Prescott completed 27 of 39 passes for 293 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions in Sunday's 44-19 loss to the Saints. He added 12 rushing yards on two carries.
Despite the final score, much of Prescott's production came in the first half, as Dallas put together a couple long drives but couldn't get the ball into the end zone while the defense was getting obliterated by Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans offense. Neither interception was entirely Prescott's fault, either -- the first came when his receiver stumbled out of his break, and the second came in the fourth quarter when his team was down by three scores and the QB was in desperation mode. Prescott has only two TD passes through his first two games, and he faces a tough test in Week 3 against a frustrated Ravens squad.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: QBs to Start
Rotowire
Prescott managed Dallas to a win last week at Cleveland with 179 passing yards and a touchdown, but he should perform better this week at home against the Saints. In his last five home games in the regular season in 2023, Prescott passed for 1,650 yards, 15 touchdowns and two interceptions, and he added 66 rushing yards and a touchdown. He scored at least 21.9 Fantasy points in each outing and averaged a whopping 33.3 points over that span. He also has scored at least 23.6 Fantasy points in four of his past five home openers, so this is a great setup for Prescott in Week 2.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Manages Dallas to win
Rotowire
Prescott completed 19 of 32 passes for 179 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 33-17 win over Cleveland.
Prescott dominated headlines before kickoff by signing a four-year, $240 million extension, though he was asked to do relatively little in Dallas' dominant Week 1 win. The team was up 27-3 with 13 minutes remaining in the third quarter, so Prescott took to the air only 11 times for 23 yards in the second half. That sample also hurt his efficiency numbers, but Prescott was able to move the ball when needed by completing a long pass of 34 yards to CeeDee Lamb as well as a 21-yard touchdown to Brandin Cooks.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Gets four-year extension
Rotowire
The Cowboys and Prescott reached an agreement on a four-year, $240 million contract Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Mere hours before Prescott was poised to kick off the 2024 campaign, he finally reached a resolution as he sought an extension. He's thus locked in with Dallas through the 2028 season, when he'll be 35 years old. Prescott is coming off his third 4,000-yard season in five years in 2023, when he also tossed an NFL-high 36 TD passes.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Bust Alert (Start/Sit)
Rotowire
It's difficult to sit Prescott in one-quarterback leagues, but I wouldn't expect a big game in this matchup at Cleveland. The Browns were No. 6 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks last season, and Myles Garrett and the Cleveland pass rush will test the Cowboys' revamped offensive line with a new starter at left tackle and center. Hopefully, CeeDee Lamb will be his usual dominant self after holding out, but Prescott could get off to a slow start in this tough road matchup with the Browns.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Next start to be in Week 1

Prescott is not in line to play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Chargers, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Per Machota, the plan is for Trey Lance to play the entire game, which would set the stage for both Prescott and Cooper Rush to be held out versus Los Angeles. Prescott's next game action is thus slated to occur on the road against Cleveland on Sept. 8.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Not playing Saturday
Rotowire
Prescott isn't in uniform ahead of Saturday's preseason game at Las Vegas, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Prescott sat out the Cowboys' exhibition opener last Sunday against the Rams due to a sore ankle, but he was able to return to practice Tuesday and participate fully one day later. Nonetheless, coach Mike McCarthy will opt to keep Prescott and likely a number of other starters on the sideline this weekend. Prescott is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he tossed for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns and nine interceptions while rushing for 242 yards and two more scores in 17 regular-season contests.
