  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Scores first TD of season

Gibson carried the ball seven times for 62 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Colts. The fifth-year RB posted his best rushing yards total since Week 2, and Gibson capped his big performance with an 11-yard TD run in the fourth quarter that gave the Patriots a 24-17 lead. The trip to the end zone was the first of the season for the former Washington back -- his last touchdown came in Week 16 of 2023. He hasn't seen double-double digits touches while Rhamondre Stevenson has been healthy since Week 2, but Gibson's ability to turn small holes into big gains could lead to a bigger role in the offense on the other side of New England's Week 14 bye.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Six carries versus Miami

Gibson, who logged 30 of a possible 69 snaps on offense in Sunday's 34-15 loss to the Dolphins, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, carried six times for 31 yards and caught one of his two targets for 14 yards in the contest. Meanwhile, starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson was on the field for 29 snaps Sunday, while carrying eight times for 13 yards and not catching either of his two targets. While we don't expect Gibson to overtake Stevenson in the Patriots' backfield pecking order any time soon, Gibson's workload this coming weekend against the Colts will be worth monitoring to see if the uptick in his RB snap share extends beyond Week 12, when Stevenson struggled to get going in a game in which Miami led by a 31-0 score by the end of the third quarter.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Four carries Sunday

Gibson carried four times for 18 yards and caught his only target for two yards in Sunday's 28-22 loss to the Rams. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, Gibson was on the field for 13 of a possible 76 snaps on offense, while Rhamondre Stevenson logged 58 snaps and 20 carries in the contest. As long as Stevenson remains available, neither Stevenson or JaMycal Hasty (five snaps, two carries) merit fantasy lineup consideration.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Five carries Sunday

Gibson logged seven of a possible 64 snaps on offense in Sunday's 19-3 win over the Bears, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. In the process, Gibson recorded 26 rushing yards on five carries and wasn't targeted in the contest. As long as he continues to work behind Rhamondre Stevenson (45 snaps, 20 carries Sunday), Gibson is off the fantasy radar.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Limited role Sunday

Gibson was on the field for eight of a possible 69 snaps on offense in Sunday's 20-17 overtime loss to the Titans, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Gibson finished the contest with one carry for minus-one yard and caught his only target for 12 yards. While working behind Rhamondre Stevenson (51 snaps, 10 carries versus Tennessee), Gibson carries limited fantasy upside ahead of a Week 10 trip to Chicago.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Ready to face Titans

Gibson (toe) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans. After being limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, Gibson worked fully Friday, paving the way for the running back to face Tennessee on Sunday. In the Patriots' win over the Jets in Week 8, Gibson was on the field for 13 snaps on offense, en route to rushing five times for seven yards in the contest. With Rhamondre Stevenson -- who finished with 20 carries versus New York -- working in the lead role, Gibson's fantasy value is limited in his complementary role.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Limited by toe injury

Gibson was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to a toe injury. In this past Sunday's 25-22 win over the Jets, Gibson logged 13 snaps on offense, while rushing five times for seven yards in the contest. As long as Rhamondre Stevenson -- who finished with 20 carries in the Week 8 win -- is available, Gibson's fantasy value is limited while he continues to handle a complementary role out of the backfield.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Five carries in backup role

Gibson rushed five times for six yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 25-22 win over the Jets. Gibson was used in a backup role while Rhamondre Stevenson rumbled for two touchdowns on 20 carries. Stevenson even got all three of the targets among New England's running backs. Even in a favorable matchup against the reeling Titans, Gibson will be tough to trust in Week 9 with a healthy Stevenson occupying a workhorse role.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Three carries Sunday

Gibson, who was on the field for a season-low 10 snaps on offense in Sunday's 32-16 loss to the Jaguars, carried three times for four yards and caught his only target for nine yards in the contest, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. After working as the Patriots' lead back Week 6 when Rhamondre Stevenson was sidelined by a foot injury, Gibson returned to a complementary role versus the Jaguars, with Stevenson (30 snaps, seven carries) back in action. Gibson briefly left Sunday's game in the first quarter after suffering an undisclosed injury, and perhaps that led to his limited usage and JaMycal Hasty's corresponding uptick in touches (20 snaps, two carries, five catches). Either way, as long as Stevenson is available, Gibson carries modest fantasy upside.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Bottled up in lead role

Gibson rushed 13 times for 19 yards and caught three of four targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 41-21 loss to the Texans. Gibson got 13 of the 17 carries by Patriots running backs prior to the final drive in Rhamondre Stevenson's (foot) absence, but the Texans weren't scared at all of rookie quarterback Drake Maye's arm in Maye's first NFL start and focused on shutting down the Gibson-led running game. That approach limited Gibson to a pitiful 1.5 yards per carry and could serve as a blueprint for Jacksonville's defense in Week 7, though the 1-5 Jaguars are unlikely to execute nearly as well when they face the Patriots in London. If Stevenson sits again, Gibson would have a nice opportunity to bounce back as the lead back against a Jacksonville defense that's surrendering 29.7 points per game.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Sleeper RBs

Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) has been ruled out for Week 6 against Houston, which makes Gibson worth using as a flex option in all leagues. It won't be easy for Gibson to have success against the Texans, who are No. 7 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. But Aaron Jones in Week 3 (25.8 PPR points) and James Cook in Week 5 (17.9 PPR points) have had success against Houston in the past three games, and hopefully Gibson can follow suit. The Patriots offense is dismal, but they have helped Stevenson score at least 17.0 PPR points in three of five games this season. And with Drake Maye making his first NFL start against Houston, the rookie will hopefully inject some life into New England's offense as well. He should lean on Gibson as a receiver out of the backfield, and hopefully, Gibson can take advantage of this opportunity with Stevenson out.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Set for more work with Stevenson out

Gibson is in line for a larger workload Sunday against the Texans with Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) ruled out for the contest, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. Gibson thus should earn a second consecutive start, but he also won't have to worry about Stevenson taking some of the backfield reps this time around due to the latter's foot injury. Through five contests this season, Gibson has averaged 8.6 touches per game, so it's unclear how many more reps he may be able to handle in the Patriots offense. On the other hand, Sunday also will mark Drake Maye's first career start, meaning the game plan may be more ground-based to alleviate pressure on the rookie quarterback. In the end, Gibson is poised to handle a healthy portion of New England's RB snaps and may have to contend with only JaMycal Hasty and practice-squad members Kevin Harris and Terrell Jennings for touches.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Contrarian DFS Play

Gibson is a great contrarian play if Rhamondre Stevenson is able to play in Week 6. If now, Gibson and Brown form a superb tandem as a cheap backfield that you can stack star wide receivers around. The Texans have a good defense, but they have given up a touchdown to a back in four of five games this season.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: In line to start versus Fins

Gibson is in line to start at running back in the Patriots' Week 5 matchup with the Dolphins, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Head coach Jerod Mayo stated Friday that Rhamondre Stevenson has officially lost his starting role for at least Week 5. The reason for this is due to his fumbling issues through four games. As a result, Gibson is presumably the next man up in New England's backfield. The veteran back has accumulated 155 yards on 29 carries, while hauling in seven passes for 82 yards. While Stevenson is still expected to play a role in the offense as a depth option, Gibson should get an opportunity to shine versus Miami.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Could start Sunday

Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo said Wednesday that having Gibson start over Rhamondre Stevenson in Sunday's game against the Dolphins is "under consideration" due to Stevenson's fumbling issues, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Stevenson has started each of the Patriots' first four games, carrying 65 times for 267 yards and two touchdowns but coughing up the ball four times. Given Stevenson's recent ball-security issues, Gibson -- who has logged 29 carries for 155 yards thus far -- is a candidate to see added snaps, possibly in a starting role. In such a scenario, Gibson represents a possible lineup option for those in need of help at running back Week 5.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Week 5 Adds (RB Preview)

The Dolphins are giving up 27.5 PPR Fantasy points per game to opposing running backs and this is another situation where both running backs could be good. I like Gibson as a high-end flex in Week 5, but he has enormous upside if Rhamondre Stevenson fumbles again or if Gibson simply receives more work because he's been the hot hand.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Week 5 Waiver Priority List

For the second time in three games, Gibson scored at least 10.9 PPR points, and he might be worth using as a flex option in PPR even though he's the No. 2 running back in New England behind Rhamondre Stevenson. And if Stevenson were to miss any time due to injury, then Gibson would be at least a flex option in PPR. Gibson is worth adding for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Eight touches in Week 3

Gibson rushed five times for 29 yards and secured all three targets for eight yards in the Patriots' 24-3 loss to the Jets on Thursday night. Gibson logged one fewer carry than Rhamondre Stevenson but outgained him by six rushing yards. Gibson was also the only one of the two involved in the passing game, albeit to a modest degree. Gibson's downturn was notable considering he'd posted 96 rushing yards just four days earlier against Seattle, but New England's offense as a whole was held in check Thursday night. Gibson will look to bounce back in a Week 4 road battle against the 49ers on Sunday, Sept. 29.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Effective as rusher in Week 2

Gibson rushed the ball 11 times for 96 yards in Sunday's 23-20 overtime loss to the Seahawks. He added one reception on one target for seven yards. When Gibson landed with New England this offseason, it was expected that he would serve as the team's primary pass catcher out of the backfield. Through two games, he has only one reception, but he has made his mark as a rusher. On Sunday, his highlight reel play came midway through the fourth quarter when he evaded penetration in the backfield and broke free for a 45-yard run -- the Patriots' longest play from scrimmage on the day. Rhamondre Stevenson is still the clear lead back in New England, but Gibson has proven to be a key piece of the offense early on.

  • Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Cleared to face Seahawks

Gibson (hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Gibson began the week with a pair of limited practices, but he was removed from the injury report Friday and practiced without limitations. After notching seven carries for 18 yards in his Patriots debut last week, Gibson will reprise his role as a change-of-pace option behind Rhamondre Stevenson in Week 2.
