  • Buccaneers' Jalen McMillan: Facing tough target competition

McMillan is part of a crowded WR room that just added Emeka Egbuka with the 19th overall draft pick.

One might assume no concerns about job security for a 2024 third-round pick who scored seven TDs over the final five weeks of his initial NFL regular season. Unfortunately for McMillan, there's a chance Egubka proves to be the superior player, and not much chance of Mike Evans or Chris Godwin (ankle) getting benched. Of course, it's also possible the concerns prove unfounded and McMillan cements himself as a quality starter, with Egubka either brought along slowly or getting most of his snaps when Evans/Godwin miss time. There does seem to be a lot of overlap between McMillan, Godwin and Egubka in terms of relative strengths and weaknesses, whereas Evans is a different animal altogether, largely running downfield routes on the perimeter.

  • Buccaneers' Tez Johnson: Headed to Tampa Bay

The Buccaneers selected Johnson in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 235th overall.

Johnson started his college career with Troy in 2020 before transferring to Oregon in 2023. He primarily played in the slot position for the Ducks and demonstrated chemistry with Bo Nix, with Johnson setting a single-season school receptions record in 2023 (86). Johnson followed that up with a strong 2024 campaign, catching 83 passes for 898 yards and 10 touchdowns over 12 games, and he was named as the Big Ten Championship Game MVP. Johnson has explosive burst at the snap and gives defenders trouble in the open field, but he'll need to firm up his route running to see consistent snaps at the NFL level. He faces an uphill battle in seeing offensive snaps in his rookie season in Tampa Bay but could serve as the team's top punt returner.

  • Buccaneers' Elijah Roberts: Headed to Tampa Bay

The Buccaneers selected Roberts in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 157th overall.

Roberts struggled to find a consistent role in Miami, but he found his footing when he transferred to SMU in 2023 and started in his final two collegiate seasons. He was named to the Second Team All-ACC roster in 2023, and over his final two years at SMU he logged 23.5 tackles for a loss, including 17.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. His 6-foot-4, 285-pound frame and long arms allowed him to bull rush offensive tackles in college, and his brute strength as a pass rusher should give him opportunities to log rotational snaps in his rookie season.

  • Buccaneers' David Walker: Grabbed by Bucs in fourth round

The Buccaneers selected Walker in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 121st overall.

Walker was a starter in all four years of his college career, and over his last three years in Central Arkansas he accumulated 184 tackles (108 solo), including 30.0 sacks, eight pass deflections and six forced fumbles in 34 games. A three-time consensus All-American, Walker was named to the First Team All-UAC in his last two years and earned the 2024 Buck Buchanan Award as the top FCS defensive player. Walker's strength and body quickness allows him to use different techniques to get past offensive linemen, which could help him overcome his lack of length against NFL-level talent.

  • Buccaneers' Jacob Parrish: Joins Buccaneers' secondary

The Buccaneers selected Parrish in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 84th overall.

Parrish comes to Tampa Bay after three strong seasons at Kansas State. His best season came as a true sophomore when he racked up 13 pass breakups and four interceptions. The production dropped off a bit (8 PBU, 1 INT) in 2024 but he still played well enough to be on the Day 2 radar. Parrish's calling card is his speed (4.35). That speed will need to be his carrying tool because Parrish is undersized at 5-foot-9 and 191 pounds with short arms (28th percentile for corners).

  • Buccaneers' Benjamin Morrison: Buccaneers add talented corner

The Buccaneers selected Morrison in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 53rd overall.

Morrison (6-feet, 193 pounds) was a starter for all three of his seasons at Notre Dame, including a true freshman season where he intercepted six passes. A hip injury ended Morrison's 2024 season after six games, but it's not believed to be a long-term concern. Players who start as freshmen at schools as big as Notre Dame usually have a place in the NFL, and freshmen who produce like Morrison almost always do. Morrison should give the Buccaneers a potential long-term replacement for Jamel Dean.
