Guhle notched an assist, four shots on goal and four PIM in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Rangers. Guhle has a helper in each of the last two games and four points over his last seven outings. His assist came up clutch Sunday, as he fed Patrik Laine on the game-winning goal 3:20 into overtime. Guhle is up to 12 points, 52 shots on net, 61 hits, 95 blocked shots, 27 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 40 appearances in a top-four role this season.

Guhle has been alright in January with three points, 14 shots on net, 19 hits and 22 blocked shots over eight outings this month. The 23-year-old blueliner still makes more of an impact with physical play rather than offense. He's at 11 points, 48 shots on net, 61 hits, 94 blocks, 23 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 39 contests in a top-four role this season.

  • Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Helps in win

Guhle logged an assist, one shot on net, three blocks and four hits in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Capitals. Guhle out-battled two Washington skaters along the boards in the offensive zone, which led to Cole Caufield's goal that tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period. Typically not a prolific producer of offense, Guhle has four points (one goal, three assists) over the last seven outings. Any offense the defenseman provides is value-added for Montreal; his most significant contributions come on the back end. He has 13 blocked shots over the last three games and ranks second on the club with 85 blocks.

  • Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Pots goal Monday

Guhle scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Canucks. Guhle has three points over six games since the holiday break. That's a good sign that his offense is coming around -- prior to the break, he had gone 14 contests without a point. The 22-year-old defense has three goals, six assists, 38 shots on net, 50 hits, 82 blocked shots, 23 PIM and a minus-5 rating over 34 outings this season while filling a top-four role with minimal power-play time.

  • Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Delivers helper in win

Guhle notched an assist, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Panthers. Guhle ended a 14-game point drought with his helper on the first of Kirby Dach's two goals in the second period. Despite the lack of offense, Guhle has maintained a top-four role this season for his defensive skill. He has seven points, 31 shots on net, 38 hits, 72 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 29 appearances. Until he can be more consistent on offense, Guhle has limited appeal in fantasy.

The Canadiens were nursing a one-goal lead early in the third when Guhle finished a tic-tac-toe sequence with Jake Evans and Cole Caufield. The arm looked fine when he beat Edmonton's Calvin Pickard to the short side from left faceoff dot. • Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Has appendix surgery

Guhle underwent appendix surgery Wednesday and will be re-evaluated in seven days, according to RDS.ca. The 22-year-old defenseman had six goals, 22 points, 178 blocked shots and 116 hits in 70 regular-season games in 2023-24. He is expected to be a top-pairing rearguard this season alongside Mike Matheson.

  • Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Pens six-year deal

Guhle inked a six-year, $33.3 million contract with Montreal on Wednesday. Guhle put together a solid 2023-24 campaign for the Habs in which he set new personal bests in games played (70), goals (six), assists (16) and hits (116). While the young blueliner can offer decent fantasy value in certain formats that value hits and blocks, his offensive upside is limited -- in part due to his lack of power-play ice time. Still, Guhle figures to continue logging big minutes in 2024-25 while serving on the top pairing with Mike Matheson.
