  • Wild's Brock Faber: Records goal Monday

Faber recorded a goal on three shots along with a blocked shot in 28:17 of ice time during Monday's 3-1 win over the Avalanche. Faber made just his second appearance since a four-game absence due to an upper-body injury, and his playing time hasn't seemed to be monitored since returning to action. He scored his first goal since the start of the calendar year Monday, as his last goal came against Dallas on Dec. 27. Now that he appears to be back to full health, Faber should continue to see plenty of playing time for Minnesota.

  • Wild's Brock Faber: Will play Saturday

Faber (upper body) will be in the lineup to face the Predators on Saturday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. Faber returned following a four-game stint on the shelf due to his upper-body injury. Prior to his absence, the 22-year-old Minnesota native was stuck in a five-game goal drought during which he registered one assist, eight shots and seven blocks. In addition to retaking his top-pairing assignment, Faber figures to link up with the No. 1 power-play unit, a role that he's been successful in, as he's recorded seven of his 20 points this year with the man advantage.

Prior to getting hurt, the young blueliner was stuck in a five-game goal drought during which he managed just one helper to go with eight shots, seven blocks and one hit while averaging 24:12 of ice time. With Jonas Brodin (lower body) also unavailable, Travis Dermott and David Jiricek will continue to see minutes on the blue line.

Faber (upper body) will not travel with the Wild on their two-game weekend road trip to Vegas and San Jose on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, according to Joe Smith of The Athletic. Faber sat out Thursday's tilt with Colorado after he was injured Tuesday against the Blues. The Wild's top blueliner, Faber has five goals, 15 assists and 54 blocked shots in 41 contests this season. He could return as early as Wednesday when the Wild host Edmonton.

  • Wild's Brock Faber: Injured in Tuesday's game

Faber (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Blues. Faber was injured midway through the first period. The 22-year-old defenseman is a key part of the Wild's defense, so any potential absence looms large, especially since Jared Spurgeon (lower body) is also out. If Faber can't play Thursday against the Avalanche, Travis Dermott is likely to draw into the lineup.

Faber scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Monday's 4-3 win over the Blackhawks. Faber gave the Wild their first lead of the game at 2:43 of the third period. He's had decent offense with four goals, 18 points, 44 shots on net and a plus-12 rating through 35 appearances. Faber's added 46 blocked shots, 14 hits and nine PIM, so he shouldn't be counted on for big numbers in the physical categories.

Faber was hit in the head or neck area late in the third period and immediately went to the locker room. The 22-year-old defenseman should be considered day-to-day until more information is available. Faber is up to 14 points, 34 shots on net, 31 blocked shots, nine PIM and a plus-15 rating through 26 outings this season. Faber notched an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Sharks. Faber has a goal and six helpers over his last 10 contests. The 21-year-old defenseman looked to be slowing down on offense in mid-March, but he's rebounded nicely late in the campaign. He's at 45 points, 130 shots on net, 149 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 80 appearances this season. Faber will be in the conversation for the Calder Trophy, but he faces an uphill battle to win more votes than Connor Bedard.

  • Wild's Brock Faber: Pots empty-netter

Faber had a goal, an assist and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Coyotes. The rookie defenseman played more than 25 minutes on Thursday. He continues to log big, important minutes for Minnesota. However, this two-point night comes on the heels of a stretch that hasn't been particularly productive offensively for Faber. He had no goals and a single assist in the 10 games prior to Thursday's win. Still, it's possible he gets back to contributing at the offensive end. He has five goals and 36 points through 63 games overall this season.
